The next day in school I was extremely tired from my lack of sleep. I was still shocked about the whole Dillon thing that happened in the jail. I saw Emily hitting on Aiden, but she was also hitting on a girl named Becca. Becca was a shy girl, and she looked very flustered by whatever Em was saying to her. Emily is Bi and very proud. It's people like her that make me smile like hell. People who are not afraid to be themselves. Actually, Emily being bi is the only reason Aiden's is okay with her hitting on him. Aiden isn't into Emily, he always viewed her as family, as he does with me and sadly enough, Tommy.
Speaking of the devil, "Hey Mute," he said to me. I just nodded in response and kept walking with my head down. "Why are you looking at my sister," he questioned.
"She looks happy, I think she really likes Becca," I signed without remembering that Tommy doesn't exactly know sign language. I quickly took out my phone and typed what I had said while having my phone read out loud.
Tommy nodded proceeding to walk with me. "No offense Tommy, but can I help you," I had my phone question him. After my phone stated what I wanted to say, Tommy suddenly realized that he was still walking with me and scowled before turning around and walking away from me as if I was a disease. I just rolled my eyes and continued my walk to class.
On my way to class I was pulled into an empty room. I started screaming out of shock fear, that is until my mouth was covered. I was met by the fearful brown eyes of my best friend Rebel.
"What was that for," I signed quickly.
"Were you with Dillon last night," he questioned. "He's looking for you," he stated in a rush.
Now it was my turn to be scared. "Why? Isn't he in jail still?"
"No, he was bailed out this morning. And no one knows. And Angie, you know his alleged girlfriend, is pissed. She's looking for you too," Rebel put the back of his hand to my forehead before stating, "You're sick today, and for the rest of the week, I'll drive you home."
"Rebel, I can understand why Angie would be pissed. Her boyfriend is looking for a girl who isn't the girl he's dating. As for Dillon, you need to find out why he's looking for me," I signed quickly.
Rebel nodded and left the room. I decided to hide in one of the closets in the room until he got back, which that must have been longer than I thought it was, because I ended up falling asleep.
3rd Person P.O.V
Finding Dillon was a mission for Rebel. He was up and down the hallways asking everyone if they knew of his whereabouts. Once he got a straight answer, he headed towards the gymnasium.
Once he got to the gymnasium he found a very angry looking Dillon taking his anger out in a brand new punching bag. Rebel looked towards the ground to find the old punching bag had been ripped open. Clearly Dillon was pissed.
"Dillon," Rebel spoke as he approached a very sweaty, angry man.
"Why are you looking for Riley," he questioned.
"So that's her first name," Dillon stated, still hitting the punching bag.
"Well technically her first name is Rilian, but everyone calls her Riley... that's besides the point, why are you looking for her?"
"And why do you care," Dillon questioned.
"Because she's my best friend and you have her scared," Dillon stopped beating the punching bag and turned to face Rebel.
"I have her scared because she tried to bring your brother into this. You should tell her about your brothers past before you tell her anything about how I am now. Keeping secrets ruins friendships, Rebel. You should know that," Dillon responded before beating the punching bag once again.
"That still doesn't answer why you're looking for her," Rebel said blatantly.
"My reasons for looking for her are none of your concerns," Rebel was fuming at his response.
"Keeping secrets ruin friendships, so tell me," Rebel said, using Dillon's words against him.
Dillon stopped beating the bag and turned to face Rebel once again. "Yes I guess you're correct, but Rebel, after what happened between you're brother, you and I... you and I are not friends."
Riley's P.O.V
I didn't realize how long I had been in this closet, but I knew something was up when I felt the vibration of the bell signaling that everyone should be in class.
I jumped awake at the vibration of that stupid bell and pulled my phone out to check the time. 8:45?! I missed all of first block and I'm about to miss second block!
I went to open the closet door but I saw shadows indicating that people were in this room. I went completely stiff. My eyes were so wide and my face was warm from the strange fear that the people in the main office had called my mom.
I grabbed my phone to message Rebel to help me get out of this situation, since he didn't have class during second block. Once I unlocked my phone I saw that I had fifteen notifications from my mom. She's going to kill me.
I opened the messages and sure enough she was pissed. I had a bunch of notifications asking where I was and why did I skip class. I quickly typed that I was hiding in a closet from a student with a rapt sheet, that I had fallen asleep, and that I'd explain later.
I quickly went to Rebel's contact and started typing out an SOS message, but the darkness was quickly lit up from the room around me. People all around me were laughing and my ears were hot from embarrassment.
"Rilian Murphy, can you please explain to me why you're in my classroom closet," Mr. Callaghan asked and everyone started laughing again. "You don't have my class until the next three blocks," he continued to joke. I couldn't make out what he said next for he was facing away from me, but what ever he said had stopped everyone from laughing.
I looked around the room and saw a few faces I recognized, and two that stood out the most. Aiden, who was waving to me with a slight sympathetic look on his face, and Dillon, who had a smirk on his face while watching my embarrassment. But out of all of the places I could be when he finds me, Mr. Callaghan's room. Really?
There was a third face I didn't recognize, but I assumed it was Angie by the way she had her arms wrapped around Dillon and the way she looked at me in disgust.
I looked back up at Mr. Callaghan and he was looking at me awaiting my answer.
"I'm hiding," I signed. Mr. Callaghan kneeled down to my level with a joking look in his eyes.
"From whom or what?"
"Him," I simply stated, not wanting to give a direct name, in case Dillon would still attempt to find me.
"Do you want me to shut the door," he questioned. I knew he was joking, but I meant it when I signed 'yes'. Before I knew it I was slowly swallowed back into the darkness of the closet.
