Swaying to the music, Lela allowed the music to fill our mind and wash away all the uneasiness that was growing. Fee smiled at her. As Lela looked closer she could see tiny sparkling sea creatures inside the Fee. "Can I go swimming tomorrow?" Lela asked. Fee nodded. "I have so much catching up to do. Will my sight last long?" Fee shook her head no. "I understand and I'm not mad about that. Truthfully, while looking at everything is absolutely stunning, it is very unnerving. I don't know what half the things I am looking at and I don't know if that is because I have never seen it or it's a Fae." She knew she was rambling, but it was kind of helping her process this whole experience. "I feel like my other senses aren't working as well. Like I can't tell what you smell like. You are cool to the touch and wet, but still solid. It's odd. I feel like having the choice, I wouldn't change how I was born." Fee just nodded knowingly. "Thank you." Lela whispered.
"Would you mind if I cut in?" Bo appeared near them. Fee stopped moving and bowed. He returned the bow; then, grabbed Lela's hand and waist. "Bet you didn't think you would be waltzing with me tonight when you invited me to dinner." He tried to joke.
"I'm so sorry Bo. Somehow you are here and it's because of me." She tried not to look at him, but the spinning room. The creatures blurred as he swung her around quickly. He was a much stronger leader than the Fee.
"I'm not happy about all this, but I'm not mad at you. It's your neighbor I don't trust. When I was chatting with Rock fellow-"
"You mean dancing..." Lela interrupted with a giggle.
"Hey. I'm confident in myself... enough. Ok. That was awkward. It was crazy strong. Like dancing with actual rocks. If it didn't want to move. It would stop and there wouldn't be anything you could do about it. Though I did find out something about that Golem thing Alicia talked about."
"Really." Lela was intrigued.
"It's a creature that has no soul. In order for it to be animated, a human has to steal or borrow one. The Golem only lasts for about a week, then the soul goes back to the owner. If the 3-day window has passed, the soul gets stuck on Earth. It's basically a ghost. The creature without a soul will die after that week regardless along with its cosmic twin."
"Why would she do all that?" Lela asked.
"I'm the wrong one to ask that. However, I also found out some more about her dance partner, Fa' who is actually a type of vampire. They don't offer wishes or magic for free. It's a tit for tat program and its never anything you want to give up. So if he actually not only changed time and sent a golem; she is pretty deep in his debt and that's not something anyone wants hanging over their heads." Bo advised.
"Well, we could always just ask her? I told you she is the kindness most compassionate person I know. She would literally give the shoes off her feet if you even looked like you needed it more." Lela told him.
"That may be true, but I was also told that if a Fae wants something from you, there are ways to wear you down. Think about it, they can invade your dreams. She may not even be the same person you know anymore." Bo said and glanced around the room as if he was looking for someone.
"Obviously we can't stay here, but it's as if Alicia has already resigned herself to stay. If she was really here a year, I wonder if she ate or drank something and that is the reason." Lela whispered.
"Maybe."
"If that's true, we need to figure out how to reverse it so she can come back with us. There has to be a way."
Bo nodded. "I agree. I may not like her, but I wouldn't want to be stuck here if I didn't choose to be here. There would have to be a damn good reason to not go home."
