"Honourable Fae Folk. I humbly ask for your attention so that I might introduce you to the newest heir and heiress presumptive of the Lore Estate of Fae Land." Alicia began. Her voice was strong and loud. A roar of stomps was returned, then a thump.
"The audience sat down," Bo told Lela.
"No one knows exactly when Fae Land blinked into existence. All that is known is that one day the energy that runs through everyone exists. Human's know very little about our own origins, but most believe either that a creator designed everything or that tiny particles crashed together to great a large explosion which then was the building blocks of everything living and breathing. It could be both. What we do know is that the Fae Folk have been visiting Earth for a millennium. Our stories and ancient lore is proof that humans have been trying to understand these fantastical beings. Every year twice a year the in-between opens and those with magick may choose to journey to and fro. The biggest drawback is that time isn't exactly regular intervals here except for three days post those two times a year. At that time, May 1-3 and Nov 1-3 time on Fae Land and Earth are in sync. If you miss those windows, you may end up stuck in either location. The Fae's energy that feeds the magick is sourced by nature itself. Thanks to human's complete disregard of our beautiful planet, it is becoming harder and harder for the Fae Folk to transverse the two worlds." Alicia explained.
"The Fae counsel was created to represent all the Fae Folk. It is made of twelve honourable Fae Folk and one human guardian and scholar. The top five echelons of the council are the representatives of Fire, Wind, Water, Mineral, and Life Source." Alicia continued.
"The Fire candidates hold mastery in all things relating to heat, fire, and combustion. From human mythology, we would call them Dragons, Phoenixes, Chimera, Jinn, Kapre, Xiuhcoatl, and of course the Fire Faerie which is described as a wizard, witch, or sorcerer. They have a lust for power and are fiercely creative with the mastery of Fire. The Fire Candidate is always called Fada. May it grace us with a wisp o' magick." Alicia asked.
"Oh. Wow." Bo exclaimed. "Sorry. It's.. uh... a stream of fire from the door at two o'clock. It's swirling above everyone's heads. Some fire from the stream is dripping on the crowd. It doesn't look like it hurts them, but its only touching certain ones."
"Which ones?"
"I would describe one as a dragon. Another would definitely be a Phoenix bird thing. Not sure about the others. Assuming they are lined up as Alicia described then there is at least one of each. When the dripping stops, the ones that touched by the fire turned back into humans dressed in their fancy clothes."
"So they are shapeshifters?"
"We could go with that," Bo responded.
"Now the stream of fire is spiraling down next to Alicia and a person is forming. It's a guy that looks like a middle eastern descent."
"You are correct Lord Bo. From the deserts of the middle east, we have a humble snake charmer." Alicia explained. "Also known as a Jinn and the related, but totally different Genie."
"Like Aladdin?" Lela snorted. Bo put his hand on Lela's.
"I wouldn't say things like that." He whispered. "His eyes glowed bright red for a moment there."
"Yes. That is one story that we humans know. The truthfulness of this lore is hotly contested. Perhaps if you chose Fada as your partner, you may ask him to tell you a story about the scoundrel known as Al-ah-din." Alicia cleared her throat. "Thank you so much for a stunning show of power, Fada. We are honoured by your attendance."
"He bowed to Alicia who bowed back. Now a billow of smoke is where he was just standing." Bo explained.
"The Air candidates hold mastery in all things related to Wind, Air, Breath, Atmosphere, and Clouds. Human mythology calls them Pegasus, Griffin, Hippogriff, Cocktrice, Cupid, Caladrius, Angels and Air Faeries which have been called Tinkerbell. They are protectors and guardians from the skys. They love to sing. The Air Representative is always called Fata. May it grace us with a wisp o' magick." Alicia asked.
