Kalise's P.O.V

"Hello?... Nelle, you there?"

"Yes girl, sorry I was just stretching"

"Oh okay, anyways I can't believe we are actually graduating!"

"I know, it's all you've been talking about"

It was the day of my senior high school graduation, and words can't even explain how excited I was and to be experiencing this with my bestfriend was the best thing about it. We both worked so hard up until this very moment, and I would not want to experience with anybody else but my Nellie Belly.

"Renee, I know yo butt better be getting dressed up there!" My mother yells from the bottom of the stairs.

"Almost done mommy! Be down soon!", she has been on my ass all morning.

"Okay, Nellie I gotta go mama trippin' again", I groan.

"Okay Lesie Pooh, I'll see you in a little bit... Love you bitch"

I chuckle and ended the call with an "I love you more".

After ending the call with Nelle, I plugged my phone back into the charger and turned my Bluetooth speaker back on. As No Limit by G-Eazy ft. A$Ap Rocky and Cardi B started to play, I immediately started to twerk and continue getting myself ready for my big day.

It was a good thing mama scheduled me a makeup and hair appointment earlier this morning, otherwise I would be rushing to get everything done. I slipped my white mini dress on and threw my house coat over it to make sure it didn't get dirty. I sat down at my vanity and began to undo my flexi rods and fluff out my curls. After making sure my hair was up to par, I added more lipstick, following me putting my feet into my custom, sparkly blue red bottom heels on. I made my way to my bedroom door and stopped in front of my full body mirror to check myself out. I looked good. The dress fit perfectly and showed every last one of my curves.

As I got downstairs, I realized my parents were at the bottom of the stairs waiting for me and snapping pictures as I came down.

"Guys stop, you're making me nervous", I spoke to my parents.

"We're sorry Ladybug, but you know we are extremely proud of you. You only graduate highschool once."

"I know daddy, but can't the flashed photography wait until later", I whined.

"Oh Kelise, stop that damn whining. Tyler, you are the reason this 18 year old child still acts like she's 2 damn years old. All you do is spoil her.", my mother complained.

I rolled my eyes and hugged daddy before heading to the kitchen to grab a snack before it was time to go.

Shanelle's P.O.V

This entire morning has been hectic, from my makeup artist cancelling on me, to my mom catching a flat tire. I just knew this would be the one day that would actually be all about me, but I should've known better than to even get my hopes up high. To avoid any morning conflict, I spent the night over my God mother's house. After being woken up by Kelise's crazy ass this morning I received a text from my MUA saying she had a family emergency, and that she would refund me my down payment. Not even five minutes later my mom called me saying she had to find a way to make it to my graduation.. I can not win for losing.

"Nelle, you awake baby girl?", I heard my God mama call from the other side of the door.

"Yea Ma, getting up right now", I threw my jogging pants on to open the door.

I opened it to her standing at the door with balloons and my favorite breakfast. I took the plate full of bacon and pancakes and sat back down on my unmade bed. I began to eat, but stopped as soon as I felt her staring at me.

"What's the matter with my favorite girl?"

"Nothing serious, just nervous about today I guess", I shrugged.

"Now you stop it right there, you know damn well your Fairy God Mama gone make sure everything goes right for my baby's big day", she nudged me with a big grin on her face.

"I know but I just woke up and shi.. stuff is going wrong already"

"Okay, talk to me", she wrapped her arm around my shoulder and shook me, "c'mon girl tell me what's going on"

I let out a huge sigh, "Well Nikki, my MUA, shot me a text saying she won't be able to make it. Then mommy just called and said she has to find a way there because her tire is flat"

"Oh...", she paused for a minute, "So here's how we solve one of those problems, my friend next door is a bomb ass makeup artist and I am sure her schedule is free today. So you finish up your breakfast while I run next door. As for your mama, you know she's gonna make it baby. That's Superwoman when it comes to y'all damn kids." She kissed my forehead and left out of the room.

While finishing my breakfast I scrolled through all of my social media apps checking out everybody getting ready for the day. It was a big day for all of us, some more important than others. I was honestly happy to finally be done. It was no surprise that I was graduating in the top 10 of my class, ya girl is very smart. The only thing that was truly scaring me was what was going to happen afterwards. My bestfriend and I have always dreamed of going to a top notch HBCU somewhere far away from home. Being from Texas, everybody was going to Prairie View A&M, or traveling to Georgia to attend Spelman or Clarke Atlanta. Not us, we wanted to go somewhere like TSU, or even Howard University. I continued onto Snapchat to get caught up on all of my classmates' mornings. I was getting upset all over again watching all of the girls post their faces being beat and slaying the camera with their sew-ins.

Ten minutes later my God mama walked back into the house.

"Okay girl, she's expecting you in about 30, so go get showered, wash your face really good, and lay your outfit on the bed. Make sure you close that door so Jinx don't hop all over your clothes. That crazy ass dog gets into everything."

I screeched with joy and ran over to her, " oh my gah Mama T, you always come through for me, I love you, I love you, I love you!"

She pried me off of her as she laughed, "get your goofy tail off of me and go do what needs to be done, we are now on a tight schedule so you better hurry." She turned me around, patted my butt, and sent me back into my room.

I laid my white blazer and pencil skirt out on the bed, along with my decorated graduation cap and gown. I grabbed my blue stilettos out of the closet and put them next to my outfit. I applied my charcoal mask to my face and let it sit as I took a quick shower, since I had gotten in last night. After my hygiene routine, I threw on a tank top and jogging shorts and headed next door. I really hoped this lady knew what she was doing. Mama T was right, my mother would find a way to my graduation, she always find a way to make sure I am never let down.
