Shanelle P.O.V

It was now the first week of August, I leave Texas in about 2 weeks. I had everything prepared. Clothes, supplies, and everything else was packed. Jon and I decided that we were gonna go grocery shopping once we got settled in. We had been spending much more time together, and I loved every moment we shared. Mama has even grown to like him, and the girls love him, I think it's because he spoils them so much. Today was my last day at work, but my manager was still going to donate some funds into my account until I found me an established job in D.C.

They threw me a going away party at work, there was food, gifts, music, and dancing. Mama had even let the girls come. I shed a few tears before I left because I was going to miss all of my residents. Some of them had even watched me grow up since Mama has worked here since I was about 12. Although it was my last day working, I was still going to stop by one more time say my farewells.

We were now at home relaxing, Jon was bringing Alana over to have a sleepover with us tonight. Before that he and I was going out to dinner and a movie since we haven't had a first official date yet. The younger ones were laying down for a nap and the twins were across the street at their friend's house. It was just me and mama at the moment, having quality time. I was laying across the couch and my head was resting in her lap while we watched Daddy's Little Girls.

"I'm going to miss you so much Punkin", mama said while stroking my hair.

"I'm going to miss you too mama", I sigh.

"You're so wonderful baby. I may not say it much but I really appreciate you. You've been such a big help in raising your crazy ass sisters' she lets out a chuckle, 'they look up to you yaknow?" I nodded.

"Yea I know, Kelsey and I had a little moment that night we went out with Jon."

"Yeah, she's come crying to me multiple times, but didn't want you to know. The twins are gonna take it the hardest out of all of us. It'll take a minute for Missy to understand, but I think Lay will handle the best."

"It's all happening so fast, I swear I just started my freshman year of highschool. Now the twins are going to be freshmen."

"Girl, you think it went fast.. I was the one watching you grow up and mature into this beautiful human being you are. I was so scared that something was gonna go wrong on my behalf of raising you, but I did a damn good job. It's so awarding to myself to see you continuing your education and getting the hell away from here. Mama has always wanted you to be better than her baby, and you are doing it. The sky is only a pit stop, reach to conquer the whole galaxy baby, you got a good head on your shoulders, don't let anyone steer you the wrong way. You hear me? You are a leader, not a follower and you've showed me and Tasha that multiple times. We are extremely proud of you.", the waterworks had begun.

"I love you so much mommy, and I thank you for staying so hard on me. Even though you bust your butt to make sure we are set, you still find time to spend with us and to keep us in line. I wouldn't ask for anyone to be my mother. You are my motivation to get up outta here. I want you and the girls to have a better living environment and for you to finally have a real moment of relaxation. As a single mother, you are doing the damn thang girl! It's gonna be hard not being able to kiss, hug, or talk to you guys everyday but in the end it'll all be worth it."

"Woo girl, what are we going to do without you around here.", she fanned her eyes and laughed.

"At least you can cut back on hours now. Which means more time spent with doing stuff with the girls. Maybe I can help you look into afterschool activities for the little ones. Kelsey has majorette and Kam has her artsy stuff, now it's time for Lena and Lay to find some interests. Oh and Ms. Elayna says that they are welcomed to come over with Lana any time they want."
