"Happy Birthday to you!" the crowd sang.

Fayette smiled at them all, her friends and family. She just turned 13.

Although she never wanted to celebrate, the surprise made her happy. She giggled as someone tickled her side.

It was Alexander. "Stop it,Alex!"

Alexander smiled at her, his eyes twinkling in love. "Say the magic word!"

Fayette tried to stiffle the laughs, "No!"

Drake narrowed his eyes and whacked the vampire's head. "Stop it." Kailen chuckled. "Party pooper!"

"Hey, birthday girl." Fayette looked up to see Orion. She grinned up at him as he ruffled her hair. Drake, Kailen and Alexander were still arguing behind them.

"Hey, not the hair!"She exclaimed and swatted his hands away.

"Here,"he placed a small gift on her hand. "It's from us!" A voice popped in.

Beside Orion stood Ivy, his mate. Fayette smile at her. "Thank you both, really you didn't have to."

Ivy is gorgeous. Although she was slim, she still stood tall and intimidating. Her green eyes lit up as Orion held her hand. Her blonde hair was in a pony tail.

Orion met his mate a year after the meeting. She's a warrior fae. They met a few days before Fayette's 7th birthday. They had a rocky start. Ivy didn't want to do anything with him, she'd threaten his balls if he went near her. But now they're 6 years in love.

Alexander stuck his tongue out at Drake making him growl. He ran to Fayette's back. "Help me!"

Fayette rolled her eyes, "I swear you're even childish than me and you're more than 200 years old!"

"But I look like I'm in my twenties."

What he said was right. He didn't look old. He looked like a model with his messy black hair and blue eyes like the ocean, but Fayette didn't tell him that. It might inflate his ego.

"Here ya go,"he gently picked her hand up and slipped in a charm bracelet.

Fayette smiled at him as he did the same.

Drake shook his head, "Poor Alexander." Kailen looked at them and smiled, a sad smile. It was for his friend who loved their sister dearly. The one who wouldn't have a chance.

Kailen hoped he'd find his mate soon.

Fayette was grateful of all the presents that were given to her by her loved ones.

She got stuffed dragon from Drake. Attached to it was a letter:

Don't forget that Rayray will ways be here for you.

She giggled at that old nickname. She grew out of it when she turned 11, Drake was sad when she called him Drake for the first time in a long time.

Kailen gave her a dagger. It was made from hydra scales and dipped in magic. The only one who could hold it was her. Drake flipped when he saw Kailen giving their baby sister a dagger.

"Oh for goodness sake, Kailen!"Drake hollered. "A dagger? A bloody dagger?!"

Kailen just laughed. "For protection," he winked.

"I'll kill you! You idiot!" Drake growled.

She opened the pink gift from her mom. "Oh mama," she whispered. It was the dress she stared at when they went to the market. It came with matching jewelry. From her father.

They may have been royalty but they didn't spend their riches that much. She continued opening her presents, each made her smile.

The last box was sitting on her bed, it was silver almost like her hair. There had always been a silver wrapped gift every year since she turned 7. It would smell divine and always fill her with warmth. The present wrapped in silver was always her favorite. She always wanted to thank whoever gave it but there was no card and when she asked the others they'd say it's a secret.

In it was a sweater. It was big but comfy. It smelled like the woods and pines. The sweater was white and she loved it. White is her favorite color. It was one thing she wanted that she never asked.

So she wore it as she fell asleep thinking of unknown person who gave it to her.

Alexander smelled the lycan on Fayette as she descended. "Alex! It's a sweater!"

He thought about the lycan who gave her that and sighed. It warned all other unmated males that she was his. He had his scent all over it. It was also a warning for him. Fayette was his and no one else's.

His smile was a bit strained but Fayette was oblivious to this. "Tell me who gave this to me," she whispered.

"I can't," he pats her hair. "Soon, I will."

I wish I never have to, he thought sadly.

She pouted, "Seriously? You tell me that every year!" They both laughed. Fayette was in no hurry to know.

They both walked to the garden where they met. Willow was there, basking in the sunlight. His white fur glowing.

"You know,"Alexander began. "Willow's a male."

"Yeah, but the name just stuck." She smiled at her tiger. "Willow will just have to deal with it."

He purred as Fayette caressed his soft fur.

Alexander stared at the girl he had come to love. The girl who made him feel after he had gone crazy. She intrigued him. She was mesmerizing and just beautiful inside and out. But he knew she couldn't love him the way he wanted to be loved. He knew about the pitiful stares her brothers would give and he didn't care. This love made him feel alive again. It made him smile, it made him laugh, it made him happy but it also made him sad.

Godess, I love you. He thought as he gazed at the beauty in front of him.

I love you.

I love you.

"I love you," he whispered.

His eyes widened in shock. Fayette turned around to meet his stare. Then she gave him one of her breathtaking smiles. "I love you too!"

That I love you broke him in so many ways.
