Fayette felt a grip on her hand, it was gentle but also firm. The burning in her heart didn't stop. She could handle the killings, the trauma it had put her through, but this? This betrayal has crushed her.
"Let me go," she whispered. She hated how weak she sounded, like a small child.
"Not again, I have waited too long for you." Apollo said. The small touch made his chest swell. It has been so long. So so long.
"Then you shall wait again." She teleported back to her chambers and immediately activated her shield spreading it to the whole room. It took her great practice to even get this far with her powers.
Apollo growled out in frustration. He didn't understand the betrayal he put her through, the confusion that swelled up in her mind. It didn't dawn to him that maybe by not having contact hurt her and her ego.
Fayette shrugged off his coat and changed to a more casual outfit. She thought of what she was going to do. Leaving would be so much easier, but running away from her responsibilities? She didn't want to do that. She knew that if she abandoned her fight, it would not only make her a coward but also a fool. Fayette thoughts went into a spiral.
Was I not good enough? Am I not pretty?
Is that why he didn't want to see me all these years?
Her heart ached as she cursed at the mate bond. She didn't ever want to feel this way again, because she was Fayette. The cold blooded killer. But she was also Fayette, the child who was struggling the responsibilities she put herself through.
Alexander gripped his chest. His chosen was hurting. But this was the price they had to pay for hiding this from her. He informed Kailen and Drake that she finally knew and that Fayette was down.
Drake and Kailen walked up to her room, "Fayette, let us in." She didn't reply. "Fayette, we know you are in there. Please listen. You were just a child, you couldn't handle the truth."
That made her blood boil. Just a child? Wasn't she just a child when they told her the truth? Wasn't she just a child when they put her through training? How was she a child when all she could remember from her childhood was the effort she gave into trying to save the kingdom. They should've told her, maybe at the same time as when she was told she was the key to the world's destruction.
"I need to calm down. You know where I'll be." She said while clenching her fists. Kailen and Drake sighed, reluctant but understood. They wanted to follow her but they knew it would turn ugly.
Fayette teleported yet again to the lake, or to swan lake as she liked to call it. She peeled off her clothing one by one and slowly dipped into the lake. A calmness only the body of water could provide. She dove in and closed her eyes, slowly letting the shield engulf her, making her invisible to the eyes.
Apollo let his lycan take control for once. It ran to the woods where it would lead to his mate. He wasn't even aware of it. His lycan smoothly guided itself through the trees taking in the scent of the forest of the faes and took itself to where the moon shone the brightest. To where she was. His pride, his half, his moon.
Fayette was unaware of the lycan that calmly lurked in the shadows, too busy trying to relax. She went up to the surface and gulped down oxygen. Apollo's control tightened as he looked at those luscious lips and supple mounds. His member hardened at the sight, the beauty to behold. It's been too long since he ever got this feeling.
With her back towards him, she rose to the surface. The gentle sway of her hips and her perfectly shaped ass has left him hypnotized. He wanted to touch her.
"Lycan."
He almost jumped at that. He was too busy ogling to notice that she had him trapped. Her shield had caged him in.
"Mate, I-" she only hushed him and went nearer.
"Do let me ask you questions." He nodded his head at the request. His eyes met pained ones. His heart clenched at the sight.
"Why did no one tell me?" She asked, wanting to finally get answers.
"You were too young, too young to even know the meaning of mates. But mostly it was for my sake," he replied.
"Yours?"
"Meeting you had my lycan going crazy. I spent our years apart trying to reign him down. He didn't want to be far apart, and I didn't want him to ruin your childhood."
"How exactly?"
"My lycan didn't want anyone near you, not unless it were us. I couldn't isolate you, a child, like that."
"Why did you not even make contact? Not even a letter," that was the source of Fayette's sadness. As much as she was praised and worshipped, Fayette was a person too. She was insecure.
"I sent you presents. Ever year. My lycan couldn't handle a reply, it would come running back to you." Apollo said honestly. His heart beat only for the one person in front of him. Fayette felt her heart swell, the thought that she had this much affect on him made her happy.
"Did you have past lovers?"
Apollo, the serious and cold hearted bastard, laughed. A sight that Fayette put the shield down to capture the moment. The crinkles in his eyes, the genuine smile that crept up his face. It was a memory that she knew would forever be kept in her mind.
"I couldn't even stand their touch." He smiled at her tenderly. This wasn't Apollo, the feared and the king of destruction. This was Apollo, the lycan who longed for his mate.
"You are all I can and will see." He earnestly said and cupped her cheek. The electricity just ran up in their veins. She leaned into his touch, his warmth.
Apollo neared his face to hers, a small gap between their breaths. "May I?" The huskiness of his voice made her body tingle. An emotion so foreign to her.
She could only nod as he crashed his lips against hers. The feel, the scent, the taste. It all exploded into him in one. Her arms wrapped themselves on his neck as his on her waist. He pulled her close. Fayette just knew what to do, she never experienced this sensation but she just knew.
The feel of her erect nipples made him moan. "Fuck." He whispered.
"I can't control him."
Fayette hesitated, longing for his touch but she knew that this was going a little too fast. She just got kissed for goodness sake. "Go," she said and he gave her a small peck to the forehead, wanting her close but knowing that his lycan may devour her.
Apollo shifted to his lycan and let it free while Fayette teleported to the castle. She needed to talk to her family.
