Fayette could feel the auras of the rogues on the outskirt of the territory.
"Another wave at north." She mumbled to her brothers.
Drake and Kailen got up and ran to the door. Fayette was already ahead of them. Her hair flowing as she teleported from post to post and tree to tree.
It always amazed her brothers. They smirked at each other and increased their speed.
Fayette was already at the front of the rogues, but they didn't notice her yet for she was invisible. All the training really paid off, she could do lots of things now.
"We need the girl alive," the biggest one said to them. The beasts nodded their heads like the pets they are, the pawns in the game of chess.
"You kill those flimsy faeries, get the girl and live!" He roared at them.
He was in front of them all and nearest to her. It was an easy kill.
She teleported beside him and gripped his neck. Exposing herself, she gave them all a sinister grin. Fayette could smell their fear and she cherished it.
Till the next wave, she thought and teleported back to the castle, the guards running past and killing all rogues in sight.
Ever since she knew that those monsters will try to use her to build an empire, she trained. She trained with her brothers and did the best she could for hand combat.
She wanted to instill fear in the heart of the enemies.
The leader she was choking tried to get her hand off by scratching it. But Fayette's hand healed within seconds. "You're not getting away," she sighed.
She threw him in one of the dungeon cells, his head hit the wall making him unconscious.
"Fayette," Rhyannon frowned. Her once smiling daughter was now savage and cold and maybe a little depressed. It made her proud that she is that strong and capable but also made her sad that she was no longer the grinning princes of the faes.
"Yes?" It was a tired tone and it made the queen's heart ache.
"You don't have to do this."
"But I want to, mama."

"Hey, princess. " Alexander smiled at her. Fayette forced a tilt on the corners of her lips.
"Alex," she stated.
"You okay? You look tired," he asked gently. His arms found their way to her petite frame. "Let's take a nap." He said.
Alexander put an arm on the back of her knees and carried her to her room. Fayette just sighed in content.
She loved her friend, loved him so. She always found comfort in him.
"Thank you, Lex."
He placed her on her king-sized bed and sat beside her. His fingers stroked her hair making her feel relaxed. Her eyes started drooping as she felt sleep pulling her to darkness.
"I love you," Alexander whispered and kissed her forehead.
He walked to her balcony. His mind was in a jumbled mess.
Where is he?
Why isn't he here yet?
His heart constricted at the thought of letting her go. He loved her so much. If he could, he'd take her away. Somewhere far away maybe, somewhere peaceful.
But I can't.
She's not his to take. Never was and never will be. But he will be there for her, that's for sure.
Alexander was scared of her leaving him. He was scared of seeing her and her mate together. He was scared of getting his heartbroken. But that, that is something inevitable. He knew what he got into when she looked at him with those soft purple eyes. He knew what would happen when he started loving her. He didn't care though and he will never regret loving such a wonderful girl. But as he looked at the silver wrapped gifts by her bed, he knew he already lost to her mate. He lost even if her mate was far far away.
Alexander would be broken soon. He just hoped that the love of his life would not.

"Lex, seriously?" Fayette laughed.
She stared amused at the vampire cooking in their kitchen wearing a pink apron with 'kiss the chef' written on the front.
"Eggs and bacon, baby!" He hollered. Alexander signaled her to come closer. She shook her head with a small smile.
"C'mere," he cooed. Fayette reluctantly went to his side, a goofy smile plastered on her face. His other arm was wrapped around her waist as he placed his cheek on her head.
"I'm gonna miss you," he murmured.
"Where are you going?" Fayette asked. Alexander just hummed in reply.
"You're stupid, you know that?" The vampire laughed at her and kissed her head gently.
Drake and Kailen smiled at their friend both in sadness and joy. They knew he would do anything to keep her safe, he wouldn't forgive himself if anything happened to her.
"Sup, kids!" Kailen exclaimed making Drake roll his eyes.
"Stop trying to be cool, Kailen." Fayette shook her head at her eldest brother.
"Hey, I'm always cool!" He frowned at her and nudged Drake who only smacked the back of his head. "Shut it, Kailen. You're fucking weird."
Fayette rolled her eyes, her brothers were always like that. You know, fighting. You could hear them bicker even from a mile away.
Alex squished her mouth to open it and placed a piece of bacon inside. Fayette growled at him then munched happily.
If only life would be this simple.
