Volleyball

A/N: This year I played Volleyball and I thought it would be cool to write a Imagine where the reader was a volleyball player on the varsity team at the high school and he has like a crush on her or whatever XD

Third Persons POV

"Alright, we have to play well tonight!" The coach for varsity Volleyball said. "This game determines whether or not we go to the conference in two weeks! Y/N, you're a hitter, so you have to jump for those high balls. I understand you're only a freshman, but you have to go for those."

"Yes, ma'am," Y/N nodded. "I'll try."

"Good. Amanda, as a setter, you have got to use your voice. Remember, yell help if you don't get the second pass."

"Yes, ma'am," Amanda said. 

"Alright, I think we're good. Play well and encourage others. Ready..."

"BREAK!!" The whole team yelled.

"Nice," coach said. "Game starts in twenty minutes. Practice your serving."

The team clapped twice before going off to practice serving.

Y/N was known as the best Volleyball player for the high school since her mom in 1973. She was strong and knew that Volleyball was the sport she was meant for. When she tried out for high school Volleyball, she wanted to be on JV, but was ecstatic when she got on Varsity.

"This is the fifth Volleyball game you've been to, Nate!" Hunter groaned as they walked into the high school.

"So?" Nate asked. "I like cheering on our school."

"I think you like someone who plays...maybe...Amanda?" Hunter laughed.

"What? No!! Shawn would kill me if I did!!" Nate exclaimed. "Besides,
I liked her in the seventh grade."

"You were obsessed, Nate. You flirted with her in History nonstop. I'm glad you grew out of that phase."

Nate chuckled and sat down on the bleachers, near the court. He wanted Y/N to be able to hear his cheers.

"I know who it is!!!" Hunter gasped.

"Who is it then?" Nate asked, eyes focused on his phone.

"You like Y/N," he whispered. "The freshman."

"Shh," Nate growled. "I don't want anyone to know!"

"I think that's cute!"

Nate chuckled and the referee blew his whistle.

The girls got in their positions on the court and the other team served the ball over to them. They hit it out and it was Y/N's turn to serve.

Y/N took a deep breath before serving. The girls didn't respond, thinking it would be out.

Y/N smiled. It was in. She served again four more times and they all were in.

Without failing the girls won the first game. 25-16. Game two was another win. 25-22.

Nate smiled as he looked at Y/N's smiling face. He knew she would always be happy about a win, but going to conference made he even more happy.

"YAY!!!!!" The team cheered.

"Great job girls!!" Coach yelled. "Get rested tonight. Tomorrow's going to be a tough day. Let's team it up. Y/N, you lead."

"Team on three!!" Y/N yelled.

"One, two, three, team!!" The team yelled and they all left to go home.

"So, you gonna tell her?" Hunter ask Nate.

"I don't know," Nate said.

"Oh, come on!! Please dude! You gotta tell her!!"

Nate sighed and went up to Y/N and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Oh, hey, Nate," Y/N greeted.

"Hi," Nate smiled. "Uh...good job tonight. You're really good."

"Oh, thank you. Thanks for coming. Nice to have support from a friend."

"I actually wanted to join the boys Volleyball team in December, but I don't have a lot of experience."

"For that, you don't really have to have experience. You just have to know how to play. If you want, I can help you when you're free."

"Yeah...that'd be great," Nate blushed. "How 'bout Saturday? Around 4?"

"Sure. I'll message you some details on Friday night. I gotta go. Bye Nate," Y/N said and grabbed her bag from the floor and left. "Remember: Bump. Set. Spike."
