•Why Did You Go?•

Third Persons POV

Nate sighed as we walked around the empty house, feeling his own heartbeat pound in his chest. It had been sixth months since Y/N died. Sixth months since she jumped off that building with no regret. Six months of Nate suffering alone.

He didn't expect it that day. She seemed all happy and...well, herself. He never knew what she was really feeling. Until then.

•Sixth months earlier•

"Y/N, are you doing alright?" Nate asked, brushing his raven hair out of his eyes.

"Not really, but don't worry," Y/N said, trying to hide all her depression. "I'm sure I'll be fine.

Damn if only she was fine.

That night Nate got home from work and Y/N was nowhere to be found. Nate looked all over the house, his worry showed well on his face.

Nate continued to look and soon stopped and realized where she would be. Her favorite spot. The roof.

Nate sprinted up the steps and opened the door that separated him from his girlfriend. When he opened it, he saw Y/N, standing on the edge of the roof, looking ready to jump.

Nate gasped. "Y/N!"

"Nate?" Y/N gasped. Shocked, she turned around and, to her surprise, saw Nate, tears falling from his eyes.

"What the hell are you doing?"

"Jumping. I can't do this anymore. The stress and anger and depression. It's too much. Nate, I'm so sorry. I'll always love you, just...don't dwell on me. In a year, you'll forget I'm gone. I'm not really something to be dwelled on.

"You know, you're the greatest friend I've ever had. I'm sorry that with what I'm doing is making you really sad. Just...stay strong and be a fighter. I love you Nate, but this is it. Goodbye."

And with that, she jumped. Tears filled her eyes as she fell, but she didn't scream. Nate watched as she fell, and fell to his knees, crying.

•Present Day•

Nate couldn't deal with the pain anymore. He couldn't deal with the fact that his best friend was gone. There was only one thing he could do. Go back to that roof and finish what she started.

Nate ran up the stairs to the roof like he did to find Y/N months ago. He went to the same spot and stood in the same spot she did, and, without any hesitation, he jumped and cried.

Goodbye world. You took away my girlfriend, so I'm gone now, too.
