Lance POV:

Blood ran down my hand like a river.

I couldn't see anymore. My eyes felt heavy. Everything was shutting down, and the last thing I could feel was the note I had written earlier in my left hand, and the way it felt like a weight before I passed out.

.  .  .  .

Pidge's POV:

I wandered around the castle. I passed the kitchen with Hunk and Allura making some dish with the mice. I knew Shiro was in the control room and Keith...Keith had left for a mission with the Blade of Marmora. I hadn't seen Lance in a while, and he still said he'd play video games with me later.

I stepped up to his door.

"Lance?"

I only heard silence, and I opened the door.

"Hey Lance? I'm opening the door..."

His bathroom door was cracked open, and the only other light source in the room was from behind me.

"Lance? You in there?"

I cracked open his bathroom door.

"Hey Lan-"

I couldn't breathe. My lungs filled up with air and suddenly I couldn't hear anything but the ringing of my pulse in my ears, and the putrid smell of more blood toxicated my head until it was all I knew. I only realized I was screaming until Shiro rushed in.

"Pidge what-"

I could only see the deep marks in his arms. "H-h-healing p-POD HEALING POD SHIRO HELP ME!" Paper was clutched in his left arm, but I threw it to the side as me and Shiro draggged him off to the healing pods, tears making my glasses slip and fog up.

"Coran!" Shiro's voice thundered down the halls. "We need you, now! Healing pod for Lance!"

As fast as I found him, he was in a healing pod and I was wrapped in Shiro's arms, crying like a baby. He was the closest thing I had to a brother without Matt. Or without...Lance.

Allura came in running with the paper in her hand. She showed it to us, her fingers grazing the red splatters on the page. Hunk was right behind her.

Dear Family

If you found me too late, I'm sorry if you miss me.

I'm sorry I can't fly Blue anymore, Allura. You were destined to find a new paladin, anyway. One that could help you instead of me. You were like a sister to me, someone I could depend on.

Pidge, I programmed the video game we bought so you can play against my high score. It took me a while to get there, so good luck. Sister or brother, I love you.

Hunk-you're one of my best friends. I wouldn't have gotten to the Garrison without you, and would've never made it into Space to fight giant robots. No one will ever make better cookies than you either-keep it up.

Shiro. You're who I look up too. Help Allura find a new paladin. Keep everyone safe for me too, okay? They need you.

Coran, you're my favorite alien! Keep everyone up and happy, and don't let anyone ruin your spirit. Make sure Allura and Shiro don't get too serious, they need a breath every once and a while.

Keith.

I'm sorry I fought so much with you. You've always been better than me, and I guess I was jealous of you the whole time. You're so perfect, and I just have to stand in the shadows. You're everything to me thought, Keith. You're more than my brother. I love you.

I love all of you. Goodbye,

Lance McClain

My head spun. Lance tried to...kill himself.

I wanted to laugh.

How could this happen behind my back? We were supposed to look out for each other. He wasn't supposed to...die.

I stared at his reflection in the healing pod, until I remembered.

Keith.

I ran to the controls, and called him. My fingers shook on the keyboard, and I nearly fell as I waited for him to respond.

"Oh hi, Pidge. Wait, are you cry-"

"Keith, get your aSS OVER HERE NOW."

"Whoa, what's going on?"

"N-now Keith! Just hurry!"

He nodded and hung up.

More tears ran down my face. I grabbed Hunk and Allura and cried more. We didn't move for awhile, and Keith arrived in minutes.

He walked into the room.

"Hey, guys, what's going on-"

He turned to see Lance in the pod.

"What happened?"

I couldn't speak to him, so I just handed him the note.

All of a sudden, the screen fell up, and Lance fell to the ground.
