perfect, amazing, good looking, smart, athletic,
and oh. so. tragic.
It was true, after all. He was basically an orphan. No one cared for him. He was antisocial. Better than everyone else. Misunderstood and hurt.
Lance?
Oh,
he doesn't matter.
He may be dumb, clumsy, and kind of pitiful,
but he has
family.
friends.
People that care about him.
But really?
If only that was the truth.
You see,
Lance was pathetically sad.
But he didn't deserve it.
He didn't deserve help.
Why would he need help?
He has everything he needs.
He isn't dying.
He isn't orphaned.
He has no reason to be pitied.
Unlike Keith, Lance didn't deserve therapy, or encouragement, no-
he needs discipline
and training
and no help or advice
because he could get by.
He had no reason to be depressed while Keith was sad.
Because Keith is deserving.
Keith needs help more than he does.
Keith cuts, starves, trains,
Keith is imperfect and perfect because of it.
And Lance knows that.
Lance knows that he doesn't qualify to be sad or harm himself because he
doesn't deserve it
Because he isn't sad.
