Poke the Sassafrass

This and the next chapter are continued from our lake field trip.

We now venture on a nature hike in the hot, muggy, dark woods when all of a sudden, A WILD SASSAFRAS APPEARS!!!

Josh asked the park lady if he could touch it. "You can poke it, I guess." He poked it. Then everybody came and poked the sassafras. It looked tormented.
