A mixture of anxiety and nervousness ran through Hyein as she was sitting in the ceremony among other students, it was their elementary school graduation. Unfortunately, Jihoon was not sitting with her as the boys were seperated from the girls. It was uncanny for her to feel this way but she had overheard from other students Jihoon was scouted by an arts school instead of any other regular school.
"Lee Jihoon," A chorus of applause ran throughout the gymnasium as kids cheered for him while Jihoon walked to the stage to recieve his diploma. He goes to shake the principal's hand and recieves his dimploma, while waiting for his principal's words. "Recently, Jihoon was scouted by an arts school and is projected to show amazing talent with the right training." While he stands proudly, Hyein could feel the pit of her stomach drop although she forced a smile. "Please give another round of applause for Lee Jihoon!" Another round of applause sounded throughout the room, the principal then continuing down the roster.
After the ceremony ended, all the students gathered in the halls as they congratulated one another. Hyein on the other hand wasn't looking for Jihoon or anyone in particular as she clutched onto her dimploma while she waited for her parents.
"Hyein! Hyein, there you are!" Jihoon waved to her excitedly as he moved past students to get to her. Hyein quickly forced another smile on her face as she dried her eyes, a look of happiness pressed onto his face. Without words he pulled her into a hug and congratulated her as she did the same to him. "I heard you're going to the same school with Joo Kyulkyung, she's pretty cool and I'm sure you'd get along with her well."
"Yeah, that sounds like a plan." Hyein agreed. "Congrats on getting into the arts school."
"Thanks, I'm so exicted!"
"I know you'll do amazing." She adds as she pulls him in for another hug. He was going to say more once they parted but his parents intervened.
"I gotta go," He says with a look of sympathy. Hyein ushers for him to go, Jihoon waves as they part. "Be sure to stay out of trouble!" They both chuckle upon hearing this, Hyein managing to smile even after he's gone. After he left she turns to look at the ground where she spotted her Pororo bandage, her smile turning bittersweet.
