"Thank you for coming," The boy who sat across from Hyein said shyly, his eyes refusing to meet hers. The room was dimly lit and Hyein found it difficult to make out the boy's features completely, but Hyein wasn't one to expect much. What Kyulkyung had failed to mention was that the 'hang out' wasn't really hanging out and was instead a group blind date. Of course Hyein was pissed but Kyulkyung reassured her as soon as Hyein tried to walk out. "I started to get worried about you being a no-show despite what Kyulkyung had said."
"Oh, well I wasn't really expecting something like this -"
"Wonwoo, Jeon Wonwoo." He seemed to have a shy demeanor despite his awkward façade. The restaurant they ended up in was Japanese styled and their table was in a sectioned room with the three out of four walls adorned with rice paper as a substitute for a divider. The table rested on the ground and was surrounded by cushions, before entering the room the group was told to take off their shoes before sitting. Along with Kyulkyung, a few other girls were brough along like Im Nayoung who was a few grades above them as well as Kang Yuha who was in the same grade as Kyulkyung and Hyein but she was in a different class. The other three girls were immersed in their own conversations, this cornering Hyein to speak to Wonwoo besides the fact that he genuinely seemed like a nice boy.
By the end of the night Hyein didn't feel like she gained nor lost anything, she wasn't looking for a relationship in the first place. Her suspicions were right, Wonwoo was nice and his intentions were pure; he didn't try to pursue anything with her since it was their first time meeting.
"See you around, Wonwoo." Hyein bid her goodbyes before catching up with Kyulkyung who acted innocent and unknowing upon Hyein's integration. "Joo Kyulkyung, if you're going to ask me to go on a group date then just tell me instead of asking to 'hang out'."
"But then you wouldn't have come out." Kyulkyung tries to justify.
"Maybe I would've." Hyein shrugged, Kyulkyung playfully slapping her shoulder upon hearing her answer. Kyulkyung cocked her eyebrow as the two were linked in arms heading to the nearest bus stop, Hyein sticking her ground.
"Really?" Kyulkyung says, not clearly convinced. "If I were to tell you, 'Hyein, you want to come with me on a group blind date?' would you come?" Even Hyein couldn't answer with a straight face and the two ended up laughing as they waited for the bus, that night Hyein made Kyulkyung promise not to drag her to any more blind dates.
