Eight.
It didn't take long for me to get home okay. I slid my jacket off before digging my phone out of my bag. I had twelve missed calls and twenty-five texts from Jayden. Whilst muttering a few low swears, not a usual characteristic of mine, I read through his texts and cleared the missed calls. The last text read:
'Skype me now. J'.
He had sent it just under five minutes ago. I rapidly replied back 'Okay two seconds x'.
Then I remembered I was still in this dress, still wearing this makeup. I cursed, again. Quickly, I wiped my makeup off before tying my, still curled, hair into a tight hair band. Before pulling a jacket on consequence of it being too late to get changed. All of this was done whilst my laptop loaded up, by now it was done. I punched in my Skype password and it wasn't long before I was within a video call with Jayden.
"Where the hell was you? Why did you never ring me?" Jayden asked me, tears prickling in his green eyes. His thick, blonde hair was still messed around like usual. He flicked it.
"I was out." I mumbled.
"I know, I've seen. It's everywhere." Jayden growled, sending me a link to a post on the Daily Mirror. The eye catching headline was clear 'Is Jessica Pendragon cheating on her boyfriend, Jayden Knight, for one quarter of the top boyband JLS Aston Merrygold?' I looked at the photos below. There were only three. I allowed the tears to fall as I looked at them. The first one just outside the house where Aston had held my hand. The second in which me and Aston and Marvin were walking down the street laughing at something. Then the third, the worst, it was in the dark, the middle of the road. Aston's lips were on my cheek but from the camera angle and with the help of photoshop, it looked exactly as if we had kissed on the lips.
"We're over," Jayden cried. "I'm going to stay over here probably for a few years so you can keep house. I'll send a friend or something to pick up my stuff in a few weeks...Bye, Jess." And with that he logged out.
I sighed before getting changed into my pyjamas, going downstairs, sticking on a rom-com then I broke down into tears.
There was a big knock on the door before a few more rapid ones. I heard the letter opener be pushed open. Marvin's voice echoed through the house. "It's me. I just wanted to see if you was alright?"
"I'm fine." I mumbled, harshly.
"No you're not." Marvin replied with his usual soothing tone. I got up and walked to the door, opening it. I knew that I looked a state but I didn't care.
"Babe, you look horrible." Aston exclaimed. I nodded at him slowly.
"Gee thanks, Ast," I grumbled back. "Is that all you two wanted?"
"I'm sorry, about before too." Aston replied, rubbing his neck with his left hand, nervously.
"It's fine, you two can come in if you want? It's freezing outside." I sighed. I knew being alone wasn't going to get me Jayden back, or anyone at all. I stepped aside as they both walked in. Closing the door after them I followed where they were going.
"Seriously, Jess? This is the worst movie ever." Aston laughed.
"Shut up," I laughed back looking at the TV where the two main characters were kissing. "Wait, how do you know? Does Aston watch these films at home?" I winked and Aston blushed and murmured a no.
A few hours later.
Marvin was fast asleep on the sofa, Aston quietly laughed at him. We were half way through this rubbish horror film from the eighties.
"Jess, come over here a second?" Aston muttered. I was on the other edge of the sofa to him. Cautiously, I slid over to him. "Feel this, here." He said, pointing to his collar. I frowned, but felt it anyway. I stroked along it. Realising that my lips were inches from his beyond perfect jawline I pulled away. He grinned.
"What was I meant to be feeling for?" I asked with one eyebrow raised.
"What you felt was boyfriend material." Aston winked, I shook my head.
"That is the cheesiest thing I've heard in my life!" I laughed.
