Chapter 14

BETTY POV: I was standing on the side of the stage while Faith was performing. Her parents were right there as well. "You have a lovely daughter" I said "Thank you! I met Tim earlier. He's a good man, Very polite" "Thank you! I raised him right" "yes you did" We all laughed "so what do you think about them? Tim and Faith?" "you mean..?" "yes!" "i think they would be perfect for each other. In fact I told Faith that" "You did? I told Tim the same thing but he just brushed me off. Telling me basically to stay out of it. He's not wanting to date anyone" "Faith is the same way! You see she was in an abusive relationship with her ex husband, Dan and ex boyfriend Scott" "Yeah she told me. I thought maybe I got through to her when I told her about what had happened to me" "If you don't mind me asking, what did happen to you?" Edna asked "Well when Tim was almost one, I met this guy and we hit it off. A few months later we were married. I had my two daughters with him. But he drank a lot and was very abusive to not only me but to Tim. Since Tim wasn't his biological son, he thought he could beat on him as well" "Is that when you finally got out?" "yes and the fact I had found I had cancer" "oh my" "it's fine now. I don't have it anymore, thank goodness. But just knowing I survived cancer, made me realize I can survive anything including getting away from my ex husband" "wow! Well I think you are a very strong and brave woman" "thank you! I see Faith as being the same. I think eventually they both will realize it" "realize what?" Faith asked coming off the stage.
