an unexpected punch

 "I can't believe he's the killer!"

"I know! The first time I watched this I was shook man!" I replied back to Destiny. My phone starts to ring as Destiny turns down the television's volume. On my phone screen I could see my mother's name. I groan and answered her call.

Where the hell are you child? The gala is in 2 hours and I want you home right this instant, I can't be seen with a child that is unprofessionally dressed to somewhere so, elegant.

"Sorry, I'm at Destiny-"

Well you better be home in 15 minutes, I can't stand waiting anymore, we have to go to the Godfrey's in an hour.

The call abruptly ends as I groan turning off my phone. I quickly grabbed my coat and keys.

"I'm sorry, I'll have to hang out with you next time for even longer, my mother would skin me tonight if I don't get home."

"Definitely, good luck with the gala kiddo!" She says, I nodded and smiled as her pat her head and left the apartment. I quickly drove home and went straight upstairs avoiding my mother and her complaining. I quickly put on the blue dress and started with my makeup, adding just mascara and blush. I quickly put my hair into loose curls and put on my heels, I headed over to Nolan's room to find him ready in a suit as he fixes his hair.

"Are you ready Nolan?"

"I wish I wasn't so I could stay home." Nolan grumbles at me as he puts on his shoes. We headed out to the car where my mother was smoking a cigar.

"Darlings, you look good." She says as she lift her eyebrows. She throws her cigar on the ground and stomps on it. "Get in the car kids." She says as she enters the car. Nolan heads for the passenger seat as I head for the back seat, avoiding Alexis. The ride to Roman's was awfully quiet while I had Roman on my mind. I was starting to like him a lot, yet we had sex last night.

I still have no idea if it was a good idea to have sex with him.

"You kids better be quiet and not do anything embarrassing. I can't stand the thought of my ego being disrupted by two whiny teenagers." Alexis says in a rude manner. I rolled my eyes and take out a piece of gum to freshen up my mouth. Once we parked at Roman's mansion I quickly entered the house to find Roman and Letha standing next to each other. I sighed in relief to have my friends near me while my mother wants to kill me. I walked over and hugged Letha.

"Man, your baby bump is getting big, how have you been?"

"Great, just nauseous here and there." I smiled as she smiles back. I turn over to Roman to find him dressed up. My heart skipped a beat from how handsome he looked as my cheeks start to get warm.

"You look amazing Noel." Roman tells me, I nodded and laughed.

"You do too Roman." I complimented hugging Roman as he hugs me back. He kisses my forehead, I silently smiled as I pulled back. I turn over to Letha who was smirking at Roman's and I gesture.

"I never knew you guys were a thing." I nodded and blushed as Letha's dad tells us to head over to the Limousine. The ride to the tower was also quiet except for Roman hugging me as I laid my head on his chest. Nolan was next to the Letha and was on his phone. Once we arrived, I headed into the tower with Roman. The institute was completely elegant, everyone was happy and calm, talking in a respectful manner. There were small tables to put our drinks on as many people talked with their companions and acquaintances. Olivia quietly greets me and Nolan as my mother told us to come over to her.

"I want you to meet this wonderful family." Alexis points out, the family in front of us. There was a father who was quite old, with brown hair that had white specks in it, as the mother had blond hair as she held a little girl. Next to them was their son who looked around my age, yet he was handsome. "The Miller family helped with a lot of things back when you kids were younger." I smiled at the family and greeted them.
