BELLE

Thank goodness I had Tuesday off work. I could feel the long hours making me burn. I had a lot of things that needed doing yesterday and I barely got one thing done. I procrastinated all day, staying in bed, watching Netflix and napping.

But Tuesday finished and Wednesday started. I picked up the dirty glasses of the tables and wiped them down. I was finishing my shift for the evening. I finally got this weekend off after my double shift Thursday and opening shift Friday.

I placed fresh cutlery on the dining tables when I noticed him. Isn't he the bloke I served on Saturday? I thought to myself. I mentally shrugged it off. Not my problem. I'm clocking out in 10 minutes.

I dawdled around, looking for things to do while I waited for my shift to end. I saw Lucas enter, he was taking over for me once I am finished. I smiled at him and put my head back down, fixing the small coffee station.

"Hey Jezzie." I heard the soft voice.

I faked a smiled as I straightened up and turned. "Lucas." I raised my eyebrow.

"What?" Lucas shrugged. Then he remembered. "I'm so sorry."

"I am regretting telling you my full name." I laughed and playfully swatted him. Then I turned all serious. "Don't call me that please. I hate that name." Lucas knew why. I have told him several months ago, we were out drinking. "It brings bad memories."

Lucas hummed. "Me too." There was an awkward silence between us as I finished fidgeting with the little sugar satchels at the coffee station. "Hey. You are out of here. I'll see you tomorrow."

Lucas playfully swatted me then with the tea towel. I laughed. "What time are you finishing tonight?" I lowered my voice.

Lucas smile crept on his face. "Not tonight Boo. I have a late date."

My eyes lit up. "Oh. I am intrigued. With who?"

Lucas sashayed away from me. "No one you know." He sassed over his shoulder.

I smiled as I signed out and collected my bag. I was looking forward to having a drink with Lucas. Yeah we slept together, embarrassingly enough, and that was the night he finally admitted to himself he wasn't bisexual. He was gay. I only slept with him to prove my point to him and he wouldn't have a bar of it. But since then, we have laughed it off and become good friends, despite the very bad sexual encounter.

I walked to my car as the setting sun hit my eyes. I groaned as I fished out my sunglasses and keys, walking briskly to the old beast. I went to put the keys in to the lock on my door when I felt a hand on my shoulder. I quickly retaliated and kneed the person.

I heard a grunt as the person dropped to the ground and I covered my mouth with my hands as my eyes widened in shock. Then I recovered from it and dug in my handbag for something, anything that could help me in defending myself.

Then the persons hand lifted with what looked like my phone. I checked my back pocket. Empty. "Oh my god! I am so sorry!" I stated as I helped him up.

MATT

Holy Mother of a Bitch! I yelled in my head as I dropped to the ground. The girl has some oomph in her. I handed her the phone that dropped out off her pocket when I saw her talking to some male back inside.

"Oh my god! I am so sorry!" I heard her squeal as I felt her hand on mine as she pulled me up.

"I'm all good." I groaned, trying to compose myself. I took a few shaky breathes then I spoke again. "Your phone."
