Chapter 3
(Jessica’s POV)
Once we got out of class, I led Asher over to my locker. He was about to say something when a girl walked up to us.
“Hi, my name is Carrie, I’ve never seen you before.” She said seductively. I didn’t like her already. She was one of those types of girls that loved tight clothing and wore super heavy makeup.
She grabbed Asher’s arm and started rubbing down the side of it. But Asher looked like he didn’t want the attention. Actually, he looked very frightened by what she was doing.
“Umm nice to meet you, I’m Jessica and this is Asher, he’s new here.” She rolled her eyes at me and went back to looking at Asher. He tried his best too look as though he wanted to be nice but he couldn’t even manage that much.
“I’m sorry Carrie, Jessica and I were just on our way to our next class, it was nice meeting you though.” With that, he grabbed my hand and we took off down the hallway.
I let him grab my hand, what am I doing? I thought to myself. Could I actually let someone back into my life?
We managed to make it down the hallway and in enough time to actually be able to stop at his locker. He looked down at me and smiled.
“I’m sorry about that, umm, I know I acted weird but I’m just not used to getting that attention. I mean, I know girls find me attractive but I just…” He said quickly. He ran his hand through his hair.
I was so lost in that one move that I didn’t notice when he started speaking again, only when he chuckled lightly.
“I’m sorry, again, I think I might be weirding you out a bit.” He said.
“No its okay I just got distracted. And that’s fine, I totally understand, it’s just girls like that usually can’t take a hint.” I told him. He gave me an even bigger smile and grabbed my hand.
“So umm, what class do you have next?” He asked.
“I have English, what about you?”
Just then I turned around to see Joana coming down the hallway. I tried to speed up the conversation, I didn’t want her being suspicious of anything that’s not even there, like she always did.
“I have Calculus, actually I was wondering-“
“Sorry, I have to go, find me here after class though okay?” With that I rushed down the hall to meet up with Joana and headed to my next class.
After I managed to get into the classroom, Joana came right behind me; I prepared for interrogation.
“Omg, who was that? He was so hot. It seemed like you had the hots for him too.” She said with a smirk. My cheeks immediately flared up in heat. Just the thought of Asher made me blush.
“He’s new here, his names Asher and he was in my first period.”
“Well, glad your finally getting a boyfriend. About time you stop moping around.” She kidded.
“Oh whatever, I’ve never once moped about not have a boyfriend. Besides, what’s so important about the big BF anyway?” I never understood Joana sometimes. She just rolled her eyes at me and turned around to the face the front of the class.
Afterwards, I went back to Asher’s locker to wait for him to come. I thought about how light his smile was, how it was never smirk or a grin like it was with all of the other cocky boys at this school. He walked up to me and grabbed my hand again. Somehow this felt so right. I loved the way his big hand fit with my little one.
“Are you ready to go to lunch? I know I’m starving.” He admitted.
With that we walked to the cafeteria hand in hand. And I had the biggest smile on my face the entire time.
Sorry guys I know its short but I had practice today so I hope you enjoy this much!
