"I do not GAZE at Scully." Those words ran through my head. Why now? I couldn't stop thinking about her, my partner, Dana Katherine Scully. She had been sent to debunk my department, the X Files. The paranormal cases we had been on together had seemed to change her opinion on all laws of science and reason.
The past six years with her have been the best. Now, because there was a scientist here to make sure the cases were worth the time and money, we got more funding and could check out more cases than ever before. It was also pretty lonely down here without her, and that's a stretch for me. I've never been the type of guy to have "friends".
People called me "Spooky Mulder" at the academy, some still do. Scully is the only one who has never called me that, at least to my knowledge. She stands by my side when no one else will. That's what I love about her. Did I just say love? Do I love her? Oh boy, this can't be happening. I can't be in love with her, it will make work so weird. That's a joke, our work is already weird enough.
She's probably the most perfect person to fall in love with though. Her short auburn hair, small pouty lips, and how she scrunches up her nose when she laughs are only some of the reasons I love her. The bigger question is if she loves me. She probably doesn't, you're too weird, Mulder I think to myself. What'd I get myself into?
