I was completely unconscious and unaware of my surroundings when I realized I was in a dream. The dream faded from a black empty space to a different scenery. I was with Scully in her room after a long day of walking around some attraction. She had her hand on my arm to stop me from leaving the room, when she pulled me down close to her and kissed me passionately. I was completely caught off guard, and it took me a moment to register what had happened. I kissed back with the same passion as Scully. I had been hoping for this moment for so long, and it finally came true. And then I woke up.

I was shocked to see me laying in Scully's bed. Oh my god, everything in my dream actually happened. I rub my face and roll over to see Scully sitting on the couch closest to the bed watching me sleep.
"Morning, Scully." I groggily smiled at her.
"Good morning, Mulder." She returned the smile. I absentmindedly ran my fingers through my hair and sighed.
"Sorry about crashing at your place, we just kind of crashed didn't we." I apologized. Scully didn't need me sleeping in the same bed as her, too fast. Way too fast.

"Mulder, you don't have to apologize. It was nice having you with me to keep me warm." Scully replied with a smile. Good, it wasn't as bad as I thought it'd be. It reassured me that everything that happened last night wasn't some mistake, and that we weren't lying when we both said "I love you,". And I did love Scully, I loved her with all of my being. She was my only friend, my constant, my touchstone, the only one I could trust. She was the only one who ever believed me, and in me. I was so alone for so long, but she brought the happiness I'd wanted so desperately back into my life. If I said I didn't love her, I'd be lying to myself.

After a little while, both Scully and I got up to get ready for the day. I grabbed my jacket and room keys, and went back to my room to get clean clothes on. I unlocked and opened the door, and then walked towards my suitcase. I grabbed a pair of old jeans and a dark grey tee shirt. It wasn't too terribly hot in Lexington, but wearing a long sleeve shirt would over heat you. While I was finishing brushing my hair and my teeth, I heard Scully knock on the door. I spat out my toothpaste and ran to open the door.
"Hello, lady. Ready for our new adventure?" I said while smiling down at her. She nodded her head and laughed. She looked absolutely beautiful.

I stepped out of the room, locked the door again, and gently grabbed Scully's hand. She took mine without hesitation, and we walked to the car. I opened the door for her to get it and then walked back to my side of the car. While turning the keys to the ignition, I caught Scully blushing. Wow she's adorable. I thought to myself.
"Where are we going today, Sculls?" I asked her as I pulled out of the parking lot.
"I don't know, Mulder. Where do you want to go? I'll let you choose." She said while she gently poked my shoulder.
"I think we should go see a race today. I'm feeling lucky, what about you, Scully?" I said, and put my free arm around her. I knew she'd love that.
"Sounds good to me! Ready to loose some money?" She said and laughed.
"Get ready to pay up, Scully" I said, and I leaned over to her side of the car and kissed her cheek.
"You're on, Mulder.".

I had previously researched race tracks and knew where they were all located, but I still wanted Scully to choose. She and I threw ideas back and forth, but eventually decided on Keenland. It took about 45 minutes to drive there, which wasn't terrible. The look on Scully's face when we got there made all of it worth it. She was completely enthralled, and it made me so happy. We parked the car, and walked toward the entrance gates hand in hand. We got our tickets and made our way to our seats.

It took Scully a while to pick out her horse just because she payed attention to the odds, but I didn't need much time.  I chose a horse called Class 5 Supernova, obviously because of the name, and Scully chose one called Done With It. She told me it had good odds, and apparently mine did too. Who would've thought. The horses seemed to be excited as the pranced toward the starting gate, and it was cute to see Scully so excited. We had arranged that whoever's horse wins gets twenty bucks from the loser. Shortly after the last horse had arrived to the gate, the gun went off and the race had begun.

"COME ON HORSE! RUN!" I yelled and stood up, trying to get under Scully's skin. I knew perfectly well that this wasn't baseball where it was acceptable to yell, but I liked messing with her.
"WIN ME SCULLY'S TWENTY BUCKS!" I continued on. She was doubled over laughing now, but still was extremely attentive to the face. When they were almost half way around the track, Scully started screaming too.
"COME ON!! COME ON!!" She stood from her seat so she could see better. It was the final stretch, and our horses were holding the lead, neck and neck. Scully's horse was ahead, and kept gaining until he reached the finish line.

"YES!" Scully yelled as she jumped up in the air. I lowered my head in fake defeat. Her little pony had won fair and square, and now I owed her twenty bucks.
"Good race, Scully." I grabbed my brown leather wallet and searched for a twenty. I finally found one and then placed it into Scully's small hand.
"Thanks, Mulder. It was a close race, so don't feel too bad." She said while smiling. I smiled back, put her hand into my own, and dragged her out of the stands. We walked out of the entryway and to the car laughing and bumping into each other.

Once we reached the car, I opened the door and pulled her into a kiss. We both were prepared this time, and this kiss was what I could only classify as perfect. Scully was perfect, her kisses were perfect, and I hope our love is perfect. Knowing her, it will be. We broke apart, and Scully cupped her hands on my face.
"Mulder," She said with a huge smile.
"Yeah Scully?".
"That was so much better than twenty dollars." Indeed it was, Scully. Indeed it was.

The drive back to the motel was much shorter, but it didn't stop Scully and I from having long conversations. She always could tell what I was thinking about, and I could do the same with her. When we got back to the motel, it was beginning to get dark. Scully invited me over to her room again, and obviously I accepted. I called a local pizza joint and ordered a pizza while Scully searched the channels to find a good show. The pizza arrived quickly and we sat on her bed. You couldn't have set me up with a more perfect night. Eating pizza and watching Seinfeld while holding onto my favorite person in the world. I wouldn't have it any other way.
