"MULDER!"
I shoot up out of bed, hearing my name being called out. I see a very shaken up Scully sitting next to me with tears streaking down her face. I pull her close to me and wipe the tears off her face. Her body was violently shaking and she was choking back her sobs.
"Scully. Are you ok? What's wrong?" I murmur, trying to calm her down.
"Nightmare, Mulder. The worst one yet. You..." She sobs into my shoulder.
"I what, Scully." I ask, hiding my concern as best I could.
"You were shot and killed. And I couldn't do anything to save you." Scully barely manages to say. She was crying harder now and I felt so helpless. All I could do was hold her and try to reassure her that it was just a nightmare.

"It's only a dream, Scully. It's ok, I'm not going anywhere anytime soon." I whisper.
I start to feel tears forming in my eyes, and then my cheeks begin to gain the same wet streaks as Scully's. I can't bear to see her this upset, it makes me extremely stressed to see her like this.
She took a long time to calm down, which is not like her at all. She told me everything that happened in her nightmare, and I became frightened too. I'd be worried if something that real and possible occurred in my sleep. All I could really do was hold her and comfort her to the best of my abilities.

"Scully, are you doing a bit better now?" I asked, and then kissed her forehead gently.
"Yeah, a bit better. Thank you, Mulder." She sighed, her eyes still had fear lingering in them.
"Well, that's a start. Want to go get breakfast? I saw a diner down the road the other day." I replied.
She was still in my arms, hugging me fiercely.
"Yeah, that'd be nice. And Mulder, you don't have to keep hugging me, I'm ok now."  She responded with a smile.
"What if I'm not ok and still need you to hug me?" I smiled back and then let go of her.
I got up out of the bed and Scully did the same. I ambled over to my suitcase and grabbed clean clothes for the day.

"I'll be back in a minute, Mulder. I've got to get my clothes." Scully said as she walked toawrds the door and began to open it.
I ran across the room and intercepted her, shutting the door and wagging my pointer finger.
"Oh no no no, Scully. I'm not letting you walk out alone after your nightmare last night. Just let me finish a couple more things and we'll go to your room, ok?" I asked, cautiously separating her from the door.
"Alright, you win. I'll stay." She said with a smile, and then rolled her eyes. I smiled back at her and stared her down until she walked away and sat on the bed. I quickly changed into some of my nicer clothes and ran my comb through my hair. Scully was changing at the same time I was, but with all of her extra stuff she took longer. She really doesn't need to wear makeup, she's beautiful in whatever.

"Ok, Mulder, I'm all ready to go. Can we eat now?" Scully asked as we were both putting on our coats.
"Sure, Scully. Now here's the important question. Pancakes or waffles?" I remarked, and opened the door for her.
"Oh, that's a hard one. Pancakes are good everyday breakfast food, but waffles are special. I can't choose, it's too hard!" She exclaimed with a shoulder shrug.
"You can do multiple autopsies in one day but you can't decide between pancakes and waffles. Shame shame, Scully." I smirked, and wagged a finger in her face which she gently batted away.
"Fine, waffles then. You happy?" She smirked back.
"Very." I replied.

We both eagerly jumped in the car and drove off to find the diner I spotted. After a couple of aimless minutes of trying to find it, I finally spotted it. It was a very small and smelled like maple syrup. We walked inside and sat at a booth. I grabbed a menu off of the end of the table and began to look through it, with Scully doing the same. An assortment of 50s music played on the speakers of the diner, and some of the songs were familiar to me. I slightly swayed to the melody and hummed. A couple of minutes later, a waitress approached our table.
"Hello, welcome to the Starlight Diner! My names Martha and I'll be your waitress for today. What can I get for y'all today?" Our waitress said with a smile.
"Hi, I'll have a coffee and a stack of waffles please." Scully ordered.
"I'll also have a coffee and the stack of waffles." I said with a smile.
