Boze's pov
Mari texted me yesterday and said that her and Wes are spending some time apart.
I know that things are rough right now but I think they're making a mistake.
She also said that once the kids get back from Olivia's then Mari will move in with her parents.
I don't think it's fair on the kids because they still need their mom and Wes needs her.
I remember how in love they were in college and through out the years, I saw that nothing could get in between them but ever since Paige died, they have been drifting apart.
I'm sitting on the couch with Flitz, discussing our wedding, it's still two months away but we have a lot to prepare.
Mari's pov
The kids are coming home today and I'm packed, ready to go.
I've just put my last suitcase in my car and I walk inside to wait for Olivia to arrive with the kids.
I walk into the kitchen to see Wes sat at the table looking heartbroken.
This was a really hard decision for me to make but it might be the only way our family can stay strong.
Wes then noticed me come in but barely looks at me.
"I'm packed. Now just waiting for the kids to come back" I state, hoping to build up a conversation.
"Hmm" Wes hums in response.
"Wes, please don't be like this. You need to be there for Jenny and Daniel. And remember, it's not forever, it's just until we get our life back on track" I remind him.
"You really think it's a good idea for you to be away from us? Our children need US not just me. While you were in a coma, I had to take care of them by myself and it was hard, not just because they were difficult but because you weren't there. And that was for about two days, so you expect me to look after them all on my own for who knows how long?" He questions me.
"Wes, I promise you that I will come back soon but you won't be alone" I tell him.
I then hear a car pull up.
"That'll be Olivia" I say and head to the front door.
I walk outside to see Jenny get out of the car and run over to me.
"Mommy!" She squeals.
I kneel down and hug her tightly.
"Hi Angel, did you have fun with Auntie Liv?" I ask her.
"Yes" She replies.
She then pulls away from the hug and runs inside.
I look over to Olivia who's stood with Daniel in her arms.
"Are you sure about this, Mari?" She asks me.
I nod and go over to give Daniel a hug.
"Mommy?" I hear Jenny call.
I turn around to see her in the doorway, looking worried.
"Daddy's sad. Why is Daddy sad?" She asks.
"He's sad because of the decision Mommy has made" I reply, unsure if I should tell her.
"What kind of decision?" She asks.
I then sit down, on the driveway with Daniel on my lap and Jenny comes and sits in front of me.
"You know how Mommy and Daddy have been very sad and what happened with your baby sister?" I ask her.
She nods.
"Well, to help make everything better, Mommy's going away for a bit" I tell her, hoping she'll try to remain calm.
"Why?" She asks, sounding scared.
"Mommy's just going to live with Nana and Grandda for a bit" I say.
"But why?" She asks again.
"Because Mommy and Daddy have been having problems and we just need to sort things out, separately" I reply.
"Can I come?" Jenny asks me.
"No Sweetheart. You and Daniel are gonna stay with Daddy and take care of him like he does for you" I tell her.
"But we'll still see you. Right?" She asks.
"Of course. You'll see me whenever you come visit Nana and Grandda" I tell her.
She then hugs me.
I sit, hugging my children, goodbye and see my husband stood at the front door, watching us.
"Why don't you go inside now, Angel? I promise, you'll see me again and I'll come home as soon as I can, ok?" I ask Jenny.
"Bye Mommy, I'll miss you and I love you" She says.
"I love you too, Jenny so much" I whisper, starting to cry.
Jenny then goes inside.
I stand up, still holding Daniel in my arms as Wes walks over.
"So, I assume you're leaving now?" He asks me.
"Yes, but remember that it won't be for long and it's for us" I remind him.
"I feel like I'm in college again. When you left and I let you go. That was honestly a huge mistake, Mari and I feel like I'm making that mistake again" He tells me, starting to cry.
I still remember the day I left college but the day I remember more, is when Wes showed up at my doorstep and came back into my life.
"Back then, I didn't want you to let me go but for the time being, please let me go until we're ready to never let go" I state.
Wes sighs.
"Ok" He agrees.
I then hand Daniel to him.
"Stay strong, Wesley Johnson" I tell him.
"Same to you, Mariko Johnson" He replies.
I no longer hold it in and kiss him.
I then pull away and get in my car.
I take one last glance out the side window to see Wes, still standing there with Daniel in his arms then Jenny runs out and hugs her father's leg while watching me.
I blow them one last kiss then drive away.
Author's Note
Sorry for more depressing chapters but it's to show what this story is really about.
Should I make a chapter about a huge time skip or just write more about their lives?
Let me know what you would prefer and I'll do my best to make it come true.
Thank you for reading and see you soon.
Bye!
