Squealing, and excited giggling was coming from the girls outside the stable. Today was the day of the Annual Kaimanawa horse challenge began. I stood over at the pretty chestnuts stall, watching him fondly as he slept. He was calmer then the others who had arrived. I crossed my fingers and wished that we would be paired. It would be so much easier to have a calm foal. At first I didn't really want to come as there were older girls over fifteen. Only me, Megan French and Alena a new girl were the younger girls here. A loud whinny came from one of the stalls, a eery silence fell through the talkative girls. Sasha who was 17 one of the older riders turned to see who whinnied. Legacy was making a big fuss, everyone just fell for it every time.

She signed angrily and said in a angry tone "it's just Legacy." All the girls went back to talking. I felt sorry for the rider that would have to get Legacy. He was a hand full and cheeky. My instructor Mr.Kelp had told me that Legacy had good showing jumping blood lines, and that he was more talented then any other horse for the Kaimanawa Challenge. Im sure nobody believed him,it seemed impossible that a crazy, self minded colt like Legacy would ever be the Grand Prix Show jumper winner. He would probably be better as a polo horse if he ever let anyone close to him.

Letting the 'Legacy Incident' slip my mind, I turned my attention back to Charm. He slept quietly. I smiled. I couldn't wait any longer, I impatiently waited. There was another half a hour till they announced the pairs, I couldn't simply wait any longer. Just then Alena Park poked her head out of the hay shed door, Surprised I stumbled back and almost knocked into Sasha who was walking past with Magic's tack.

"Watch it!" She said, her tone angry, she was mostly angry when Legacy was beening a pain.

"Sorry Sash!" I replied quickly, she nodded before stopping at Magic's stall.

"Im really sorry, about that!" Alena apologised. "It's alright, Sash forgives pretty quickly" I half smiled. Alena's cheeks turned back to pale, her hazel eyes shinning. "Im new here!" Alena smiled,a huge grin appearing on her face. "That's awesome." I smiled cheerfully. "Hey are you in the Kaimanawa Challenge?" She asked me, I nodded happily in reply. "Yah!" She smiled. She came out from behind the hay shed door and soon we started to chat idly. Every girls mind was fixed on what foal they wanted and how they would train them.

We talked for awhile, Alena had trained her first horse Dream from foal hood, she said she would like another partnership with a horse again. My reason for coming to do the Kaimanawa Challenge wasn't as 'mind blowing' as hers, I only came to try it out. Ever since I started riding the welsh pony down the road. I've always had a dream of becoming a much better rider, then beening a horse breeder.

Honestly I am little jealous of Alena, she's a talented rider, she pretty, and a really nice person. If I thought I was better then her, I would be lying. Her long sandy brown hair fell in waves across her back, and her hazel eyes were excited and sparkling. She looked like the sort of person that would go hang out with Megan French, but Im sure nobody like her would want to hang out and be friends with Megan.

We carried on talking and leaned on Charms stall door as we hung out in the large indoor stables.
