With out even realising I had lost track of time. I looked at my blue watch. "1:30!" I shouted excitedly to Alena. We both exchanged smiles and hugged each other. We walked through the aisle of the indoor stables,if we had our right me and Alena would have ran through there, but we had to obey the stables rules so we walked out of the stables then ran to where a group of girls gathered. Mr.Tapa stood in front of them. The yard was perfectly cleaned today, not a speck of dirt or loose hay were in site on the usually concrete floors. The wash area was tidied up too, there were no stray grooming tools or sweat scrapers hanging about and the horse had been reeled in neatly. I partly guessed that the girls wanted to impress Mr. Tapa, maybe they had a foal they really wanted. "I know you's are all excited but please be quite" Mr. Tapa yelled across to the girls. A nearby pony called Cherry shook in dismay and whinnied. All the girls went quite as they waited to be paired up. "Ok, thank you, for beening all quite" Mr. Tapa yelled. All the girls nodded their heads. "Im going to announce who is going to be paired with who!" He shouted.
• "Chloe your paired with Wisdom" He yelled. Chloe's face went red in happiness and she ran over to Wisdoms stall and petted her.
• "Ruby your paired up with Roly". Mr. Tapa yelled.
• "Emma your paired up with Spirit".
• "Aliana your paired up with Liberty"
• "Rosie your paired up with Mystery".
• "Alena your paired up with China"
• "Amanda your paired up with Argo"
• "Chrissy your paired up with Promise"
• "Kelly your paired up with Anzac"
• "Jemma your paired with Toasty"
He yelled. I heard so many names called out. I watched all the girls go over to their horses stall. I watched in sadness. I looked at the ground waiting patiently for my name to be called out.
• "Isabella Mills your paired up with Legacy" Mr Tapa yelled.
I stared at him for a few seconds wondering if he said that I was paired up with Legacy. Then I saw him put his finger to me to go over to Legacy and not stand there. I got the message and walked slowly to Legacy's stall. I passed all the girls in the stalls with their new horses. They were petting them and grooming them. I was jealous, how could anyone pair me up with Legacy. Why was it me? Why wasn't it anyone else? Why couldn't it be Megan French? Who got paired up with the beloved Charm? All these questions came to my head.
"Hey who did you get paired up with?" A familiar voice asked. I turned and saw Alena. "Oh no one, just Legacy" I said slowly. "Oh no! Did you really! How could anyone..." She stopped talking. "What is it?" I asked. I turned to look where Alena's gaze was at. "No way!" Alena whispered. She was right, Megan the spiteful girl walked past holding Charms lead. Frustrated I tried to look away. But I couldn't. My gaze was stuck on them. Charm tried pulling away as he walked, but Megan just pulled on his lead hard, and dragged him closer to her. They slowly walked out of the indoor stables and out to the open pen yards. When Megan was out of sight I began to talk. "So how's China?" I ask. "She's really good, Im already proud of her! But Im sorry that you got Legacy!" She half smiled. "It's alright, I just don't get how they could pair me up with him!" I said as I looked at the ground.
Suddenly a loud bang went through the stables. Everyone including me and Alena looked at the direction the noise came from. I huffed in annoyance. It was Legacy. "I better go!" I said at Alena as I started to walk to Legacy's stall. I slowly walked up, trying not to scare him. But he backed up in his stall. There was wood chips from of the stall walls where he had been kicking. I put my hand out to try pat him but he was to far away. "I've really had enough of your behaviour and Im going to get you out of this stall!" I told him. His eyes looked away from mine. "I think you would want some help. And you can only take him out if you have someone watching!" Alena said as she walked over to me.
