Save me (Naruto fanfic)

Chapter Seventeen

Kakashi POV
I watched as Naruto and Shikamaru left the tent, not failing to notice that Naruto seemed to be much more relaxed than before. Shikamaru also seeming more at ease, even though his cheeks were dusted a light pink.

"Hey guys! Sorry about that."  Naruto laughed scratching the back of his head. At least he seemed back to his usual self again. We couldn't have him being unstable, especially on a b rank, some of his teammates could be injured if he wasn't able to focus properly.

Shikamaru and Minami's pained expressions at Naruto still concerned me.

"BAKA! You're always skipping work and who is that brat anyway?" Sakura screeched. Wasn't Naruto's reaction earlier enough to warn her that the boy was a sensitive topic? I really had to do something about her intelligence levels when we completed the mission. No one should be that stupid and still be a ninja. Even Ino looked at her in a judging manner.

Why couldn't I be left to read my books in peace?

Naruto POV
Did the banshee really go there again? God I wish I could transfer my stab wound to her. How I had not been killed by mistakes she made because of my mask was mystery! I feel bad that I even included Ino into the same category as bubblegum. Sakura really is one of a kind and not in a good way.

Trying to control my urge to shave off her hair with my kunai and make her into a target, I gritted my teeth. I felt my chakra become slightly unstable as I clenched my fist in an attempt to quench my anger.

Shiro was my weakness on an anger scale.

Shikamaru seemed to notice my uneasiness as he held on to my sleeve. I noticed that his eyes held anger too. He really did always surprise me.

"Don't its troublesome." He whispered.

I held my breath trying not to laughfor the first time in a while. A real laugh. Shikamaru looked at me surprised but still smiled. No matter how much he surprised me he was still a Nara deep down. That made him Shikamaru.

My anger disappeared. Well almost. All I did was ignore bubblegum and sit down next to the fire, Shikamaru joining me.  I was surprised by Kakashi walking over to us.

"So boys, who's the New friend?" He asked.

I had to be careful with how explained this one.

Sorry it took a while, my internet has been down so I've written this at my grandma's. Thanks for being patient and hopefully I should update a little more often as long as my life outside of wattpad doesn't get in the way.
