Chapter Twenty Eight

Shikamaru POV
My throat tightened as I say Naruto's tears. That slimy b*stard Danzo would pay for the pain he was causing my Naru. It was killing me to see him this way especially as I never noticed that that he had a mask. None of us did. Inside he was so fragile and we took him for granted but no more. I would put a stop to that even if it killed me in the process.

I hugged Naru. He froze before slowly relaxing into my embrace. His entire slim body shook as tears rolled down him face. Slowly his tears ceased and he gently pushed me away.

"Shika did you really fall in love with me? Are you really willing to put your life in danger for me?" He stared at him in shock.

I smiled at him and nodded. "If Danzo want us then we will go to him and stop him before he hurt anyone else. That's the only way I can protect you Naru - for us to be together safely."

"Okay Shikamaru I would love to go out with you then. We will start our plans to defeat Danzo tomorrow." He grinned, his cheeks turning pink.

I nodded lying back on to our futon. Naru came and lay next to me as I wrapped my arms around him, a massive grin etched on to my face. Together we fell asleep in each other's arm, now committed to our next troublesome battle.

However this time it was going to be less of a drag because we have each other...
