Daryl kept hugging me and I held onto him as if I was holding onto life. Once Daryl let me go Rick approached me looking happy to see me. "Did you and Karol do that?" He asked with a southern accent. I nodded and he gave me a tight hug. It didn't last long though, Daryl got so jealous that he literally yanked Rick off of me. He grabbed my chin and gave me a deep kiss. Once he pulled away Karol led us to an old fishing cabin of some sort and out came Tyreese and Judith. Rick and Carl ran to Judith and Sasha ran to Tyreese. Daryl kept his left arm around my shoulder and his crossbow on his right shoulder. He kissed my hair lightly as we walked on the train tracks.
After a few hours of walking we settled down and made a camp fire. Me and Daryl were the first to stand watch and we sat together in silence. He glanced at me and I glanced back at him. I knew he was wondering about why I left and I just turned my glance to the trees. Daryl licked his lips and took his left hand and turned my gaze back to him. "Zoe..." He whispered in his redneck accent. "I don't want to talk about it..." I replied and turned back to the woods. Daryl rolled his eyes and turned my head back to him. He rested his chin on the butt of his crossbow and took my hand and held it tightly. I held it back and felt a little more comfortable. After being out alone for so long and he never even knew why made my heart wrench. "Amethyst....?" He whispered looking down at the ground.
I nodded and he held my hand tighter. He nodded back at me and picked his head up to give me a kiss on the cheek. I returned the cheek kiss with a light kiss on the lips and he smiled. I forgot how silly his smile was and smiled back. We giggled and kept watch for a few more minutes before heading back to the campfire to change shifts. While everyone was asleep and Daryl found himself on watch I stood up and walked to a creek close by to the others. The wind blew through my now brown hair. Some of the blue did stay but not much, and I looked at my reflection. It was so much different from when I looked in the mirror back at the farm. I wiped some blood off of my cheek and looked back up at the moon.
I changed a lot and I felt like crap. I was on my own until I found Karol but maybe I was fine on my own. I kept thinking about what me and Daryl have been through a lot along with Luke and Rin but both of them I didn't have feelings for. Luka was a brother and Rin was a man who fell in love with me. I was glad to see them again but I didn't feel so great. I walked around Daryl close by but I felt like I needed to be alone and he sure as hell wasn't gonna let that happen. I looked back at Daryl who smiled lightly at me. Thank god eventually Rick asked for Daryl and I was alone for a bit. I had a few minutes to think before running to the road and loading the car with my stuff. As soon as I sat down in the car Daryl appeared and held the door where it was. "Zoe what are you doing!? We just found you!" He shouted angrily.
I got out of the car and stood in front of Daryl annoyed. "Heh you don't get it Daryl what we had a year ago wasn't anything. I'm sorry but you know for a fact that our relationship has changed its most likely nonexistant. Face it what we had was nothing and the group all they want is to feed off of me because I know how to survive. This was a horrible idea to come back so I'm leaving." I explained as he listened. I can tell he was hurt but it was the truth. We stood there for a good ten seconds before Daryl pushed me into the passenger seat and got behind the wheel. He drove as fast has he could chasing after a car with a medical symbol on it. I just watched him drive into the night and waited for what he was getting at.
