Chapter 10

Aaron's POV
I walked into school and waited by Natalie's locker like I said I would. She told me she had surprise for me so I was a little excited. "Hey Aaron." Lily said looking up at me. "Hey Lily." I greeted looking for Natalie in the crowd. I saw her as she waved, but felt my shirt being tugged and lips pressed against my own. I froze in shock and Natalie looked heart broken. She was at least three feet away from me. I pushed Lily off me and wiped my lips. "I can't believe I ever fell in love with you!" She screamed making people stop and stare. She threw a blue journal at me and ran away. I grabbed it and Lily started to walk away and laugh maniacally. I grabbed her arm tightly and turned her to face me while I glared at her. "You set this up didn't you?" I asked angrily. She looked scared and she didn't meet my gaze. I threw her away from me and started to run after Natalie.

Natalie's POV
Luke started to walk into the building, but I grabbed his arm and pulled him along back to the car. "I want to go home." I said. He nodded and looked at me sadly. I got in the passenger side and we started to drive off. "What happened?" He asked as I wiped tears away. "I wanted to ask Aaron to prom and when I told him to meet me at my locker, I saw him kissing Lily." I sobbed. He stopped in the driveway and I bolted into the house and locked myself in my room. "If you need anything just call me." He said from outside my door. I let my head falls into my hands and I quietly sobbed. I heard my phone ring and I picked it up to see my dad was calling me. "Hey I got you a scholarship here in Colorado. You come here right after prom." He informed. I hung up and smiled. A new start and I knew better to fall in love with anyone. I looked at my phone and noticed five texts and two missed calls from Aaron. "Natalie dad told me about the scholarship so I'm taking you to the prom and we're gonna have one last fun time before you leave." Luke said from outside. "Okay." I croaked. I stepped out of my room and he embraced me tightly.

Aaron's POV
I ran after Natalie, but I saw her car drive away. I saw her crying face through the window before the car sped out of the parking lot. I looked at the blue journal in my hands and opened it and skimmed through it. It was all pictures of me and Natalie together. I flipped to the last page the had a picture of herself holding a giant heart that said PROM! I felt tears stream down my face and I wiped them away. "We heard what happened." I heard voices say. Laurance and Garroth were standing behind me with sad smiles. "I asked Ivy since she's obsessed with me. She told me the whole story and told her to stay away from you and Natalie." I nodded and I looked where Natalie and Luke's car had once been. I slammed my fist against the school wall and walked out and drove home. I tried to call her and text her, but she wasn't answering. I sighed and let more tears run down my face. I checked my Instagram and noticed a post from Natalie. I looked at it and read the caption. Going to prom with my twin brother. I turned off my phone and flopped down on my bed and ran a hand through my hair. I have to have Garroth and Laurance tell Natalie what happened.

Natalie's POV
I walked around the kitchen before making some tacos. Luke came and helped me and we finished eating early. I walked up to my room to get a sweater when I noticed Aaron's on my bed. I picked it up and heard a crackling sound. I stuck my hand in the pocket and pulled out a crumpled piece of paper

Dear Natalie,
Damn you know me so well and I'm not the person to be shy about anything, but it scares me to think that you could actually love a guy like me. I always wanted to kiss you and I want to hold you and love you till the ends of the Earth. I can't wait to prom comes around and I ask you to be my date. Maybe if you find this you'll understand.

I read the words and tears spilled across my face. This was before the kiss and before he fell in love with Lily. I heard my phone ring and I looked at Laurance's photo pull up. I ignored it and waited for a voicemail to pop up. "Natalie it's Laurance, me and Garroth are worried about you so we're gonna come over after school to check up on you." I heard his voice say. I threw my phone across the room and flopped down on my bed. I brought Aaron's sweatshirt close to me and I smelled a faint trace of his cologne. I pushed it away from me and looked up at my ceiling sadly. I looked around my room and stopped at my board of drawings. I tore the pictures of Aaron down and put them in a box. I put his jacket in it and put it on the top shelf of my closet. "Natalie prom is tomorrow do you know what you want to do with your hair?" He asked. "Yeah thanks for being such a great brother even though you're an ass sometimes." I said hugging him tightly. He hugged me tightly and I heard him sniffle. "I'm gonna miss you when you leave me." He said wiping away tears. "You're coming with me. I don't want to be alone and we can live in an apartment together." I said proudly. His face lit up and he ran and grabbed his laptop and we looked at some apartments close to the college. We found a two bedroom two bath for really cheap and we saved an appointment to start renting it. We high fived and we drove to the mall. "C'mon we got to get you a tux." I said dragging him into a store.He tried on a few before he found a dark blue one. We took it and got it a red tie to match my dress. We drove home quickly and hung up our outfits next to each other. "Maybe prom won't be such a bad thing." I said hoping we would have fun. "I'm gonna embarrass yo by dancing." He laughed and I punched his shoulder lightly. "As long as we're together I don't care how bad you embarrass me."
