Welcome To The Industries

I believe everyone has a role on this earth. Everyone has a job to do and without that job this world would be nothing but farm. I mean, that's what happened a few centuries ago when the war broke out.

World war 3 happened in 2015. All that could go wrong went wrong that day. There was a world wide power outage, a bunch of earthquakes happened, volcanos erupted, terrorists attacked, any bad thing you could think of happened.

So all the survivors created what we call the Industries. It's a system where everyone gets to choose a career. If they don't commit to it however... the consequences are gruesome.

There are five Industries. Education which involves teaching what needs to be taught. If you teach the wrong thing however you must suffer the consequences mentioned before.

Next is care taking. It involves housekeeping, babysitting, pet sitting etc. If you don't properly care for it though, the consequences come in again.

Then there's business. This is one of the easiest industries as it's hard for just one individual to mess up. They're in charge of making sure taxes are payed and other things.

Next is health. This is things like counseling and therapy to surgeries and operations. If a patient dies because of a mistake you made there come the consequences.

Last there's government. We're like the glue holding this system together. One little piece unsticking and everything is ruined.

I'm in the government industry. Now I reveal my identity.

My name is Elisa Wolopp. I run this whole system and will run it until the day I die.

I guess you could call me the president. I'm not a queen as my mother or any of my family doesn't have to be in the throne. But I'm not really a president either as the residents of this town have no say over who is leader. Of course, the residents of this post apocalyptic world couldn't care less, as none of them have experienced anything different.
At first, a few citizens would have to be punished to those horrible consequences, but now we're down to three executions a year at most.
That's the beautiful world we live in now. I must return to work. It's time for the second execution of the year.
