Our first date was so cringy you can't help but laught at it.

It was the summer before eighth grade.

Like two months ago she became my girlfriend.

I wanted to take her on a date.

So me being a little thirteen year old, went on my computer and googled; "Good first dates on a budget."

Keep in mind I was thirteen.

Anything over two dollars was expensive.

The first thing to catch my eye was "Netflix Double Feature."

Someone brings the popcorn, someone brings the drinks, one person chooses one movie, and then the other person chooses a movie.

She came with two bottles of Coke.

Being the gentleman I am, I let her pick first.

She chose Newsies.

During the movie, I ever so awkwardly put my arm around her.

Then it was my turn.

I put on Scream.

Little did I know she was petrified of anything scary.

As soon as she saw the killer, she got anxious.

Once again, I was thirteen.

I didn't know girls weren't into horror flicks!

I thought if she got scared I could protect her!

Little thirteen year old Drew didn't know that came later in the relationship.

I instantly turned the movie off to let her get her breathing under control.

I kept telling her it was just movie and Scream doesn't exist.

I tried my best to calm her down.

Long story short, dates go better when you're older.
