If you had one wish, what would it be?
I read my eighth grade English essay prompt.

My wish would be to marry my girlfriend, Ashley. I know we are going to get married one day when we graduated high school, but I always see people break up. I fear that we're going to break up. But I know you can't help who you fall for. Even if I don't like her anymore or if she doesn't like me anymore, we're still going to be best friends. Because best friends will always be in your life.

A tear slid down my cheek as I read it. I read Ashley's next.

My wish would be to provide my love one with everything he deserves. My boyfriend deserves everything in the world. It's physically impossible to give him that because I'm just an eighth grader with no job. But one day, I'll be genuinely happy. Even if we're apart I'll be happy. I'll be strong enough for the both of us. That's when I'll give him everything he deserves.

After I read that, I started to bawl my eyes out.

I drove to her.

I got on my knees.

"You did give me everything. You gave me you. That's more I could ask for." I said leaning on her grave.

I got back in my car and drove to the mall.

I stood in front of the fountain.

I took a penny out.

"If I could have one wish. Just one, I would wish to have my Ashley back. That's all I want," I said, "give me her. Scars and all." I said throwing my penny in the fountain.
