"Casey! Where are we?" Pam asked her adventurous friend, who was currently checking for anything out of the ordinary. But found none.
"We should head back. It's almost six now." Emily spoke up, hoping to drag some sense into Casey's mind.
Annoyed but still in her Sherlock Holmes spirit, Casey turned towards her friends.
"I'm not leaving until i find something. There's gotta be something in this damn forest."
"Oh come on Casey. Look around. It's just a bunch of trees." Emily said, taking in her surroundings, which was getting scarier by the second.
Casey sighed.
"Girls!" She hooked her arms around both her friends,"Be a little adventurous. This is...Life!"
"This is stupid!" Pam deadpanned, earning a glare from Casey.
"Relax, will ya? We got this." Casey said confidently.
"No, we haven't got this. We should leave" Emily said," Or they'll leave without us."
Casey rolled her eyes at her feeble-minded friends.
"They can't leave without us Em. They'll be blamed for abandoning us. There'll be cops and jail and all that stuff. Nobody wants that." Casey replied, metaphorically patting her back for coming up with the perfect answer.
She kept walking towards the deeper side of the forest, her blonde hair waving in the chilly breeze.
The girls were unsure but followed their friend nonetheless.
Emily looked around, suddenly feeling not so healthy. Pam was getting cautious of their surroundings.
'Why did i agree to this?' Emily thought to herself.
All around, only the forest appeared, diminishing everything else.
"Guys, look!" Casey shouted from a small distance, pointing towards something.
Both the girls went towards her to see what Casey's found. And when they did, nobody spoke up. There was an eerie silence between the trio.
Something settled in the pit of Emily's stomach.
'I don't like this.' Her mind formed the words her mouth couldn't.
