First off I just want to tell the person who requested this that I am very sorry that I am just publishing this now:( Okay now on with the story! Hope you like it:)

It was supposed to be a simple patrol. See how close the spiders had gotten to the kingdom and kill any that could endanger the Elves of Mirkwood. I never knew that there could be so many spiders in one place. "Legolas!" I shout. "I think we should split up! We would get done faster and be back in time for the feast!" Legolas laughs and shakes his head. "Only you could think of food at a time like this" He says. I smirk stabbing a spider in one of its many eyes. We separate, me running into a horde of 20 or so spiders to our right while Legolas ran up a tree and pulled out his bow so he could get a better view of the nasty devils. Everything seemed to be running smoothly until a root hidden by fallen leaves grabbed hold of my ankle, dragging me to the forest floor. "Legolas!" I shout trying to reach for my sword. Before I could cry for help again, I felt I sharp sting on my side and I soon fell into blackness.

I awoke to the shuffling and clicks of the forest. Something strong was wrapped around my body keeping me from being able to move anything except my nose and my lips were slowed with the poison that the fowl beasts had stung me with. I finally forced my eyes open but immediately regretted  it when I looked up with horror at the dozens of eyes staring down at me hungrily. Its drooling tusk like appendages clapped together with delight and at this moment I would have liked to say that I found a dagger or a sharp stick to claw my way out of that nightmare or that I bravely fought for my life. I would have liked to say this but it would be a lie for in that moment I screamed and it was a poor moment to realize that I had arachnophobia. I screamed and was wriggling desperately trying to escape the horrible fate that awaited me when The horrid eyes staring down at me flinched back and fell backwards from the web I was strung upon. The thwack of arrows was heard several more times before I saw him. With blond hair like a star in this dark night that I had fallen into he was my hero. Here I was, a woman/man, who had spent decades trying to prove myself a warrior that needed no one to save them. But in this moment I saw him and my heart swelled with relief and joy. Legolas runs to me and swiftly cuts the thick webs from me helping me stand. "Are you alright?" he asks caressing my jaw while his other hand rested on my waste. "I-I love you..." I whispered hazily. Legolas looked shocked for a moment but soon snapped out of it as another spider was heading our way. He handed me a sword and squeezed my hand before running off to kill the hairy pest. I took a deep breath before stumbling into the epic battle for my dignity which I came out semi victorious. After the last spider had been killed I slumped against a tree fighting to stay awake. The spider's venom still coursed through my veins, making me vulnerable and weak. "(Y/N)? Stay awake my friend" Legolas asked worriedly. "But the sun's going down leggy" I slurred. My eyes shut and I fell sideways, Legolas barely catching my head. I had passed out yet again. "Rest my love" He whispers, gently picking me up in his arms. "I will keep you safe".

The morning light and chirping birds welcomed me into the world of consciousness with much more kindness than the dark forest. I relished the softness of the mattress and the silkiness of the sheets against my skin. My eyes opened to see everything familiar about my bedroom expect the chair in the corner. A certain elf sat as if on guard yet his eyes were closed and a tranquil expression lay on his face. I drug myself up so I sat against the headboard, wincing at each new bruise and sore muscle I found. As if someone came and whacked me on the head, the events of yesterday rushed back. I had told Legolas a secret that I had kept for years. "Oh no" I whimpered letting my head fall into my hands. At my exclamation of embarrassment, Legolas shot up, reaching out beside him for his bow. As soon as he saw me he rushed to my side, pulling me into his arms and holding my head to his chest. "You're awake" He chuckled. I furrow my eyebrows; "That's generally what people do when they fall asleep right?". Legolas looked down, his eyes solemn. "You were asleep for 3 days. You had a reaction to the venom and they weren't sure if you would live at first" He said his voice shaky towards the end. My eyes widen in shock but I grasp his hand in mine trying to comfort his fear. "I'm okay now leggy. You don't have to worry about silly me" I said happily. I lean my head against his shoulder, enjoying the moment of peace this morning had given us. "What do you remember from that day?" He asked softly. I stiffened a bit. "I remember you saving me and us fighting the rest of the spiders and I told you..." I trail off clearing my throat as I suddenly become interested in the lines of my palms. "Did you mean it?" He asks turning to face me. I nod my face red with embarrassment. I feel fingers gently lift my chin out from hiding and I look into his calm blue eyes. "I love you, elin nin" He said breathlessly. His eyes glanced down to my lips before meeting mine once more. He smiled and quickly leaned forward, catching my lips with his, melting my heart into his hands.
