Finally Done

"Good morning L.A.F.A.A. students! As we all know, tonight is the senior prom! Starting at 5:30 we will have our showcase to show off the ladies dresses' and the fellows' dates. You will not want to miss it!" I heard the principal of our school say into my phone. I was really starting to regret signing up for this notification call at my school. They always called to tell about how report cards are coming out, upcoming talent shows, etc. It was aggravating sometimes.

All the seniors were allowed an excused absence at school so that they could do their last minute touch ups to their outfits, hair, etc. My mom was making a big deal over everything.

"You need to get your hair done, nails done, and pick up your dress. You're no where prepared." She continued to yell at me as I was in the shower.

"I'll be ready by time 5:30 comes. It's 9:00AM. I have all day." I said.

"Not at the pace you're going. Let's go!" She said.

I finished showering and got dressed. First I was going to get my hair done while my mom went to pick up my dress. My dad had hired a professional hair dresser who usually does celebrities' hair. I thought that was too much, but they didn't think so.

It had took the hair dresser four days to plan what she wanted to do to my hair. She had to meet up with the nail dresser whom my dad had hired also, to see what my nails would look like. In addition to that, the nail dresser had to look at the dress I would wear, which was custom tailored by a professional fashion designer. By 4:30, I was finally ready. I was at the top of the stairs. Drake, his prom date, and Wayne was at the bottom, waiting for me to walk down so we could leave. I was nervous for a lot of reasons. One was that I was about to be the center of attention once I got downstairs. Two, of what Wayne and Drake will think of the outfit. Three, at what will happen at prom. I didn't even want to go, but I know that I have to now that I already was dressed. I took a deep breath and walked down the steps. The chatter downstairs stopped since they began to hear my heels clicking as I got to the bottom of the stairs. (Outfit in media)

Once I finally got off of the stairs, everyone was still in shock.

"Wow," I heard Wayne whisper.

Drake just stood there, his whole face shocked as well.

"You look beautiful," Drake's date hugged me.

"Same to you," I hugged her back. (Media)

"Wow Nicki. You look wonderful." Wayne said, hugging me also.

"You really do." Drake added.

They both hugged me and I smiled.

"Thank you guys." I replied.

My mom took a lot of pictures of us all, especially of Wayne and me.

After about 15 minutes of taking pictures, we got into the limo which was also purchased by my dad.

We rode to prom and all eyes were on us. Everyone wanted to konw who was walking up into prom in a limo. Whose parents had that much money to pay for all of that. I had just realized that not only would this be my only high school prom, but pretty much the first time I allowed people to see the background I come from and how my dad is wealthy.

Wayne and I walked out of the limo first, and everyone stopped and stared. One: no one thought that we would ever be prom dates. Two: No one could believe the outfit I was wearing. Three: It was my clique, of all cliques, that was coming out of the limo.

Once Drake and his date came out, Drake smirked at everyone's reaction. He loved being the center of attention. We all walked past the statues and walked inside. The same reaction came from the people we passed in the ball room. We just ignored them and continued to chill.
