Ch. 14

As Finch drove I told him to go to a pharmacy so I could get the medications.

"Hey, Finch can we talk?"

"Sure, hon. What about?"

"The reason I've been running away so much and acting like I hate it here is because I want my old life back in Tennesee. I also don't want to disappoint you, I want to be someone you're proud of." Finch was silent for a few minutes.

"Kiley, I understand your feelings about your parents. You're certainly not a dissapointment to me but I would like you to not run away. I want you to be happy here."

"I am happy here I just..." I broke off mid sentence as I spotted two familiar faces. Kristy and Brady. They were on the street corner, waiting for the light to change.

I ducked down as my phone vibrated with a text message. I C U Kiley

My heart dropped to my feet as Finch pulled into a small strip mall with a pharmacy on the corner. Finch parked the car and we both got out, walked in and ordered for the prescription to be filled. We were instructed by a lady to wait around 30 minutes.

Finch said he was going to the deli next door so he could get lunch for all of us as Reese and Shaw were waiting back at the library. I heard the door chime open and saw Brady walk in with Kristy on his arm. They walked over and looked me up and down.

"Hi" Brady said exuding confidence and douchiness. Kristy kept silent but glared at me.

"Hi" I said, looking at some candy. I grabbed a bag of gummy worms but put it back.

"So you live with...." Brady was trying to extract answers for something but I wasn't biting.

"None of your business."

"Well okay then" Brady put his hands up. "I was thinking about taking you back but if that's the way you're acting thenI won't."

"What do you want you two? You ruined my life in Tennesse can you leave me alone?"

"I want to talk about what we did to you."

"Okay."

"You drove Brady to me" Kristy said crossly.

"Okay" I looked at my phone. It was 11 am. My meds would be up soon.

"We're going to be here until tonight, can we meet up for dinner."

"Not a chance in hell" I responded as the lady called me to get my meds. I grabbed the bag of worms I put back and paid for it all, leaving the small pharmacy, Kristy and Brady behind just like Tennesee.

I got to the car and notice Finch was in the passenger seat. I got in the drivers seat and pulled out of the space.

"I got you a blt sandwich" Finch said as I opened the gummy worm bag. I started eating while driving.

"who were you talking to in the pharmacy?"

"Nobody important" I smirked as I headed towards my new home. Today was going to be a very good day even with wanting to run away and Kristy and Brady badgering me in the pharmacy.
