Later that night, I was sitting with Finch on the couch watching the news and eating chicken noodle soup that I had made. The news made a switch to breaking news, Finch turned the volume up.

"We have just discovered who was behind the plane explosion at Logan Airport here in New York City." A picture with two bald men that had neck tattoo popped up with thier names underneath. Rick Underly and Steve Adams. My dad's two friends from work in Tennesee.

"I know those guys, they were friends with my dad in Tennesee. I think they all worked together." Finch stared at me wide eyed.

"These men were in connection with Jared Anderson, who recently died in a police shootout while attempting to kill his own daughter. They found out his daughter Kiley Anderson was about to board a plane but wasn't on it yet." I put my head in my hands. I wish they would stop. It switched back to the desk anchors who were talking about it, giving their fake sympathy. I finished my bowl of soup and put it in the sink, rinsing it out first.

"Do you want some more, Kiley?"

"No I'm full Finch."

"Okay, then I'll put it away. How are you feeling?"

"Fine, I'm gonna go in my room now good night."

"Good night, sweet dreams. Don't forget your medication."

"I won't." I went to the bathroom and took my pills then headed for my bed. I had one new text message from Brady.

Can u still make it 2 dinner???

I texted back telling him to fuck off and leave me alone, i was getting my number changed tomorrow. I laid my head on my zebra print pillow and looked at my turquiose ceiling. I did this until I looked at my clock. In big red numbers it read 11:34 pm. My eyes were heavy but my brain was running with thoughts.

For some reason my next thought was to go out on a walk but I knew I shouldn't. Even without the threat of my dad or his men, New York was still a dangerous place for a seventeen year old girl who was naive. But still the thought persisted until I found yself getting dressed and grabbing a knife that Reese had bought me after my dad kidnapped me. Finch was still up watching a movie.

"Where are you going?"

"My charger just broke, I'm going to go grab my car charger."

"Okay just come straight back in."

"I will."

"Then why did you get dressed?"

"I figured this was a safer bet than shorts and a tank top." I pointed to my jeans and t shirt. "I don't want to attract attention to me Finch." why the hell was he being so inquisitive?

"The knife?"

"Paranoia" I said. I went out the front door of the library but walked past my car and onto the streets of New York. Just on the verge of downtown, a black car pulled up and stopped. The driver rolled down the window, it was Reese.

"Kiley get in."

"I'm on a walk."

"I know but it's dangerous."

"I have the knife you gave me."

"Get in now or I'll drag you in." I walked over to the passenger side door and got in. Reese went up to the next stoplight and pulled a u turn.

"Why are you taking a walk this late at night?" He pointed to the radio which read 12:03 am.

"For some reason I wasn't sleepy even though I took my sleep medication and I wanted to go on a walk."

Reese sighed loudly and looked at me. "You worry the crap out of your uncle Finch you know."

"I know, I don't why I keep lying to him either. I feel terrible."

"You should stop, he doesn't appreciate being lied too especially by someone he's taking care of." I stay silent looking at the dark floor. Reese's face was lit by the moon when he looked at me.

"Trust me Kiley, it gets better. You'll start school in like two months, the media will stop reporting your story and eventually things will fall in place even if it doesn't seem that way right now."

"That's what Shaw said to me."

"That things get better?"

"Yeah it was right after I arrived in New York."

"We know what we're talking about when it comes to this subject."

"When things are going to ger better?"

"Exactly kiddo" Reese smirked as he pulled up to the library. "Now go inside, apologize to Finch for lying about going out and get some sleep."

"Okay Reese." I got out as Finch opned the door up. I ran up the stairs into Finch.

"I'm sorry I lied about going out and all the other lies."I hugged Finch tightly. "Can you please forgive me?"

"yes I can." Finch hugged me back.

Before Finch led me inside for the night, I turned around to see Reese pull away. I went to my room, put my pajamas back on and fell into a deep sleep.
