---------Well, we've made it this far guys. Now the story is drawing to an end. Thank you to anyone and everyone who read it :) FYI this chapter it's just Kiley's ghost observing. Enjoy------------
My body laid lifeless in the warehouse. Shaw was shaking really badly, Root had arrived sometime after my death uncle Finch by her side. He was crying too. Like really hard crying. He crouched down behind me and pulled the gun away from my body.
"She was....Kiley was going to....avenge her sister Angela's.....death....Michael did it too......" Finch barely managed to speak. Finch put his head in his hands and crouched down by my body. Michael's body lay on the other side of the room. No one was even looking that way, they were all gathered around me.
Paramedics swarmed the place taking both bodies away. The team wasn't allowed to come with the paramedics, so they lingered behind. Finch finally stood up and answered a call. The tears welling up in Reese's eyes spilled over, he quickly wiped them away. Root looked sullen, staring aimlessly at the pile of blood. Shaw was sitting by the wall, curled up still crying.
I felt so stupid, trying to be brave and all I did was get myself killed. But at least Michael wasn't a threat anymore to anyone.
Dectective Fusco and Dectective Carter arrived.
"Where's Kiley" Fusco asked aloud, then looked at everyone's face. "Oh...too late?"
"Where's her.....you know her body?" Carter flinched when Finch looked at her, then he quietly said they already took her to the hospital three and a half blocks away.
"Okay, let's go there." Carter and Fusco led the team away from the scene, wrapping police tape up on the walls.
I followed the team to the hospital, and watched as my body was led down to a room. The doctors tried to ressucitate me, they really did. But it was too late. I was gone. Really gone.
My body was sent to the morgue to prepare it for the funeral. The team and the two dectectives went back to the library. They all sat in silence for hours until Finch announced he was going to bed. Everyone left quickly, probably eager to get back home and cry.
Shaw had stopped crying but was still sniffling. Root had shed a few tears in the hospital room. I followed them all to thier different places. Shaw went to her loft and went straight to bed, not bothering to change.
Reese went to his apartment, put on some pajama pants and an old t shirt, pouring himself a glass of scotch.
Root went back to an apartment building and really cried.
Fusco went back to his apartment and shed a few tears before heading to bed. Carter did the same.
Finch lied when he said he was going to bed. He went to my room, and picked some clothes up off my floor. He also made my bed, shut my phone off, organized my books, and just surveyed the scene.
He started crying again, which was breaking my heart. I didn't get to say goodbye and neither did he. Finch left my room and headed to the kitchen, where he drank a bottle of whiskey before heading to the bedroom. Finch curled up in a ball and fell asleep. I checked back on the team. Everyone was asleep now.
The next day the team and the two dectectives met up again, planning my funeral.
"Lilies" Finch said, writing it down. "Kiley's... favorite.....flow..er..." Finch almost broke down again.
"Let's hold the service at the grave site at 11 am sharp next Tuesday. In Tennessee next to her family." Shaw said quickly. Finch took his time writing that down.
Finch already had a grave site in mind, he called and ordered a casket for me. He also ordered a ton of lilies in bouquets of seventeen, my age.
He bought plane tickets for each of them, including Fusco and Carter, who were taking time off for my funeral.
It seemed surreal that I was dead. I wanted to come through the door and surprise them but I couldn't. I floated over to the morticians office where they were embalming my body.
I didn't want to watch so I left, but I didn't want to go back to the library either. I went to the warehouse where I died. The tape was there, the homicide detectives were scanning for clues. Carter joined them a short time later. She just seemed too distraught.
Returning to the library after watching the homicide detectives handle my case I saw the team leave. They were heading out to a restaurant.
I followed, watching as they pulled into an Olive Garden on West Avenue and 3rd street. They ordered except finch was asking me what I wanted.
"Kiley anything for......?" Finch's head hung down. "That's right.... Never mind" he told the waiter. Shaw took Finch's hand and squeezed it tight.
"It's going to be okay" she said quietly.
"What are we going to do when the next number comes?" Reese looked around to make sure no one overheard him.
"The same thing Mr. Reese, we help them." Reese nodded, looking satisfied.
Their food came and they ate in silence, except for an occasional "this is delicious."
Finch paid and the team left, where finch proceeded to drop them off at their apartments, thanking each one for their help when I was alive. Then finch drove to a familiar building. Dr. Smiths building.
Finch went up to the building and asked to see Dr. Smith. He was available and finch had an appointment.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Crane. What bring you here?" Dr. Smith shuffled some papers around.
"Kiley" finch began, tearing up.
"What about Kiley?"
"Last night she met up with an...old acquaintance from Tennessee. There was a confrontation between the two and he shot her." Finch began crying.
Dr. Smith handed him the box of tissues. "Is she....okay?"
"Kiley.....is....in a...better place..."
"Oh my god" dr. Smith whispered quietly in shock.
"We're holding the funeral next Tuesday in Tennessee where the rest of her family is buried, I can buy your plane ticket if you want."
"I'd like that a lot, Mr. Crane."
"Okay" uncle finch said quietly. "That's all."
"Please email me with the ticket later."
"Will do" finch extended his hand out for a shake. "Thank you Dr. Smith....for helping Kiley out when she was here."
"It was the least I could do for such a sweet girl." Dr. Smith nodded and finch left. Dr. Smith then proceeded to ask for the time off and look through my file before putting it away in a cabinet.
Nothing happened for the next three days so I took a trip around the world visiting places I'd never been like Italy and the Bahamas. I checked in on everyone to see how they were doing. Everyone seemed to be holding up except finch who was constantly crying.
Finally they flew my body in to Tennessee for the funeral. Root, Reese, Finch, Shaw, Dr. smith, Fusco, and Carter flew down to Tennessee on Monday, stayed in a cheap hotel close by the funeral site.
The pastor who spoke at my mother and fathers funeral did mine as well. It was a lovely service, went much better than it did with my mothers funeral. Lots of people from the high school showed up, even Kristy and Brady. Finch spoke, Kristy and Brady spoke and some people from my block.
The service ended at 1 pm, finch grabbed a lily to put in my casket. So did the team, Fusco and carter, and dr. Smith did too.
The pallbearers shut my casket and lowered me six feet down. I looked one last time at the people who were there, I touched Finchs shoulder and told him goodbye. I felt someone tug at my angel wing. It was my mother, standing with my family.
"It's time to go home now sweetheart" she said. We turned and floated away from the funeral. I turned and said goodbye to the world as I floated into the sky.
