Levi Ackerman

Underground. I repeat this word few times in my mind. 'The place where naughty children go'. That's what Miss Ackerman, my next door neighbour in Shiganshina used to shout at me. My father told me once that she had seen the titans many years ago and even back when he was a kid, she had already gone mad.

Commander Erwin was looking carefully at my reaction. "Do you have any objections, (y/n)?" "No, sir." He paused for a moment. Perhaps so I can rethink my answer. "Good. I expect to see you tomorrow at dawn." "Yes, sir." I was dismissed and went to my new room.

Next morning on breaktast I told Hanji and Alice about the mission. "Wow, (Y/n)! That's amazing! You really got picked up for a mission by the Commander himself?" I put my hand over Hanji's mouth. Too late. Everyone was already looking at me in schock. "I didn't know you were coming along as well, First." I bet that was supposed to catch me off guard, but I have already figured out he was coming.

After breakfast I went to the stabels. Ace was feeding his horse an apple. "Hey, Ace." I smiled at him. He looked at me confused. "What do you want?" He looked so different without his usual smirk. "I just wanted to... Well, wish you good luck." Ace was about to speak, when Commander Erwin showed up. I couldn't help, but wonder what Ace was gonna say.

On the way to the underground city I noticed Ace was staring at me. When I looked at him he just turned away and that really annoyed me. What was this guy's problem! First he made fun of me and tried to turn everyone against me, then when I tried being nice to him he suddenly turned all sad and quiet... I guess I would deal with him later.

The road was much longer than I thought. I was getting a bit tired, so when we finally arrived I sighed in relief. "Tired already, First?" And... he's back. "Cadet (L/n), Cadet Armstrong, I want you to be careful. We need to capture our targets alive." 'Targets?' I thought we were after the so called 'Levi Ackerman' .

The underground city was the worst place I'd ever been to. The only light was coming from the streets' lamps, not nearly enough, but just the right amount for all the poverty and misery to shine. I felt my heart ache, while we walked in the streets. Few kids passed us, they lookes like they haven't eaten in days. Most of them were probably born down here and had never even seen the sun.

We got into a few pubs, most of them crowded. Most of the people there looked unclean and unpleasant. I mentally slaped myself. 'A soldier must surve all. Most of thoes people have probably seen worse than you ever will.' But... 'Bad children go to the underground' I couldn't stop thinking about this. Why did thoes people deserved to live here... How was I any better than them.

Commander Erwin and Mike walked into another pub, while I, Ace and a tall male with brown beard waited outside. "That's them! That's Furlan Church and Levi Ackerman!" Someone shouted from the inside as three hooded figured walked out of the pub. They didn't stat running, they just calmly continued. "Old bastrads. They always forget about me."

One of the three said. Her voice indicating she was a female. I couldn't just let them go like that. I took a step forward and held the closest one by the forearm. "Hey, wait..." He quickly spinned around and got out of my hold. "Don't touch me you, brat." Then I saw he was holding an knife. "First!" Ace tried to warn me, but the man was too fast. Luckily I moved or the cut could have hurt. His cape moved along with him. I frowned as I saw the 3dm gear on his hips. "That doesn't belong to you!" The raven haired man looked at me with his cold grey eyes. "Try and take it then." And with this words all three of them launched out.

My vision went black. I had never been so angry my entire life. I nodded at Ace and Captain Beard then launched as well. "First, you idiot! We need to wait for the Commander! You don't have any orders!" I didn't hear him. The three people before me were going at full speed. I didn't have problem keeping up, but I was worried not to run out of gas.

Suddenly the three split. That was bad! I couldn't follow all of them. I just sped up and went after the one in the middle. I realised I couldn't catch up so I hid. Behind a corner of an old bilding. My target landed as well. "Did I loose her?" She said, while panting. "Well damn... that one is fast..." I snuck up on her. "Thanks." I said before i knocked her out uncontious.

It took me a while to find Erwin and the others. They had just captured the other two thugs. I carried their friend over my shoulder. She was strong, no doubt about it, but I didn't train  three years for nothing. She was now contious and was angrily muttering someting, I think she was calling me a "beast". I put her down and handkuffed her, then seated her down next to the one called Furlan.

Erwin was already there. He nodded at me then looked at the three crimminals. "Levi Ackerman, Furlan Church and Isabel Magnolia, I offer you a choice." My eyes widened. "You can join the Survey Corps or face the Military police and answer for your crimes." I looked at the Erwin in disbelief. Since when! Since when did the scouts need crimminals to fill their lines! Of course they had to answer for their crimes, but joining the scouts... That's not a punishment! That's an honer! I was furious. I could fill my body shivering. Ace held my shoulder.

"What do you want? " I glared at him. He kept silent, but I could read the words 'Calm down' in his blue eyes.

Our three captives looked at each other. "I say we join them, Levi-bro! We can get through anything if we're together." Isabel smiled. 'So cheesy.' I thought, but my anger slowly died off. May be they weren't the dangerous underground thugs we were told they were.

Levi looked at Furlan. He nodded. "We accept, Eyebrows." Levi said glaring at Erwin. E-eyebrows! "Watch it, pipsqueak!" Stepping in front of the guy. I realised I was out of line and stepped back. Everyone was quiet for a moment until Erwin broke the silence.

"Very well then. We need to get back to the  residence. I'll ride with Furlan. Cadet Armstrong takes Levi and Cadet (L/n) - Isabel." Isabel looked at me then at the Commender. "Excuse me... sir, I'd preffer to ride with someone else. She kind of scares me." I glared at her. Erwin sighed. "Alright. (Y/n) you take Levi. And  Cadet Armstrong you take Isabel."

For some reason Ace didn't look too pleased. He just stared at Levi. I got up on my horse and looked down at Levi. Damn! I myself was rather short, but he looked like he couldn't even get on the horse. I reached my hand to help, but he just glared at me. "Keep your filthy hands off me." I wasn't really offended. I'd been called worse before.

He tried jumping on the horse's back, but the moment he did that I gently kicked the animal in the ribs and it took a step forward. Levi lost balance an fell on the ground. I jumped off my then lifted him and put him on the horse's back. He was so shoked he didn't even blink when I hoped up right in front of him.

Everyone was already on their horses. Isabel and Furlan had witnessed our little  show and were now laughing like crazy. We headed back to the surface when I felt Levi was almost falling off. "Just hold onto me, Ackerman. I don't bite. And I promise I took a bath this morning so I'm not filthy." I turned back to look at him. He stared for a moment then I felt two strong hands around my waist. I turned forward again feeling slightly uncomfortable. I had never been so close to a man other than my dad before. And to make matters worse that man in particular was a crimminal. But well... who knew the feared Levi Ackerman could be so warm... I guess the soldier must do what they're ordered. I smiled a bit and caught up to the others.
