Imagine Damon getting angry at you because of a TV show you introduced him to.
A/N: SPOILERS FOR HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER ENDING!
You and Damon had been dating for around a year now and you had just moved into the Salvatore Boarding House. However, you realised they had no cable so you had brought your own with you and were now on Netflix looking for something to watch.
"What are you doing?" Your boyfriend asked as he jumped over and sat beside you on the sofa.
"I'm looking for something to watch." You explained whilst he gave you a kiss on the cheek.
"What's that? The thing with the umbrella? How I met your mother?" Damon asked, as he stopped the show.
"Oh, it's old now. It was a sitcom that used to be on TV." You explained. "It was really funny at the time."
"So, let's watch it." He said before making himself look more comfortable.
You shrugged, knowing How I Met Your Mother was an inoffensive show that you could watch in and out without really missing anything, plus if you could get Damon into TV watching, then the two of you had many days ahead.
A couple weeks passed, in which Damon had been watching the series still, even when you weren't there. You had gone out to the grill and you came back that night expecting to see Damon lying on the couch but he was at the bar, angrily pouring himself a drink.
"Hey baby, what's up?" You said jovially as you entered. You flashed him a smile, but were instead greeted with a cold look. "Damon? Is everything okay?"
"Everything's fine." He told you.
"Everything doesn't seem fine." You told him with concern.
"Well, it is, alright?" He snapped back at you.
"Damon, we just moved in together, I want this relationship to work." You explained to him. "But it won't work if every time you get angry at me, you don't tell me why?"
"Where'd you get that from? 10 ways to keep your man?" He said with a dark chuckle.
"Screw you, Damon." You tell him with a roll of your eyes before going to sit down in front of the TV in the hopes of watching something to calm you down. But the minute you sat down, he sped over and grabbed the remote from you and turned off the TV.
"Not today." He said as he put it away. "I cancelled the subscription."
"Why would you do that?" You asked him angrily. "It's my subscription!"
"Well it's my TV which you're watching on my couch in my house!" He yelled.
"Your TV? Your couch? Your house?"
"Yeah."
You were hurt by his words, but you knew you wouldn't let Damon see that. You knew better than to let him think he had won today. But heaven and earth knows you would let your ire be voiced.
"I'm going to bed." You told him. "I'm gonna sleep in a spare room tonight. Don't come find me."
He looked shocked by your words and watched as you walked away into the spare bedroom and lay down on the bed. In your distress you couldn't sleep, so instead you lay there on your side, trapped in your thoughts. You could never get to sleep when you had things like this on your mind, something Damon knew well. Which meant when he had finally rationalised his thoughts, he climbed into the bed beside you, wrapping an arm around you, one that you didn't reject.
"I told you not to come find me." You murmured half-heartedly.
"You know I'm not one for following the rules." He said with a light chuckle.
"Do you want to tell me why you're mad at me then?" You asked him.
"You're gonna be even more angry when you realise why I was angry." He told you sheepishly.
"Try me."
"I finished How I Met Your Mother today. That was the worst ending! It made no sense! Tracey died and he ended up with Robin? She doesn't want kids, he has kids! And she and Barney were great for each other! It's just—there was so much wrong with that ending."
"Are you serious?" You asked, breaking out into laughter. "I can't believe you've been so moody because of that! I'm gonna murder you!"
You turned over and pinned him down to the bed, shaking your head at him, the two of you laughing at him.
"I said you'd be mad!"
"You're so dumb!"
"Not me, the ending!" He retorted. "How can you have finished watching that show, seen that ending and not warned me?"
"I didn't think you'd plough through the whole thing that quickly anyway!" You replied. "You are by far the craziest guy I've ever been with."
"But that's okay because I love you and you love me." He said with a smirk.
"Yeah, it is." You bent down to give him a kiss, pulling away with a smile.
"And for the record, things aren't just mine anymore, they're ours." He told you.
"And Stefan's."
"And Stefan's." He agreed. "But still mostly mine."
"I'm gonna kill you." You told him, only for him to pull you off him and lay you beside him.
"But then you'll never find out that I didn't actually cancel your subscription." He told you.
"I guess I'll just have to let you live then." You told him with a smirk before gaining a gleam in your eye. "You know the best part about having Netflix?"
"What?"
"You get to Netflix and chill."
"Okay, let's go watch some." He said moving to go into the living room only for you to pull him back into bed with you.
"Less Netflix, more chill."
