"This ship should take us home faster now that we have no need to stop along the way," Sensei said as he leant against the railing beside me as Swift gaped at the amazing view.
"You really haven't been outside of the village limits have you?" Sensei asked, amusement clear in his tone.
Snapping her mouth closed, she turned to him with a pout.
"Don't laugh at my obliviousness. Not all of us have had long cool journeys" she replied, cheeks puffed with air giving her the appearance of a cute little giggle. Emphasis on the cute.
He half chuckled, ruffling her hair.
I blinked in surprise. If this journey has had an effect on anyone majorly, that is Sensei. The man before me seems so far away from the piece of rock I had met in heat of the beginning of war not so long ago. Though that could just be down to having spent so little time with him. Swift herself does not seem so surprised.
"Don't worry little pup. Once this is over I shall take you wherever your heart contents.
"Really?!" Swift replied, giggidy, quickly capturing him in a hug after he nodded.
A pure expression of shock crossed Sensei's face.
"Thank you!" Swift said happily, not realising the man's predicament.
But the expression quickly faded into one of control as he arms slowly, and hesitantly, came to rest around her shoulders.
"So... have you told her yet?"
Jumping, I turned slightly to Jake who leaned against the railing, coming out of nowhere
"Stop scaring me like that!" I said as I turned back to Swift.
Sensei is gone now.
I fumbled with the chain in my pocket as I contemplated my next move.
Mr Sp-Jack's hand came down, almost fatherly, upon my shoulder "man up boy. There is no time like the present. You don't know what will happen in the future, so go ahead and tell her"
