"Please tell me that is just a juicy fruit in his mouth and not blood..." Barnes said besides my frozen form.
"I wish I could" I muttered back as I stood frozen.
Its red eyes followed us, with almost amusement as we attempted to not show fear, but failed miserably.
"Why did we come in alone again?" Barnes said, gulping down his fear as Shadow grasped at my leg, trying to see past us. But we didn't let her get into its sights.
"Since only three could pass, remember," I said as I stepped closer to him. His body followed as well.
"But why not send Sensei in or Mr Spade? They know more, fought more than us"
"Because some unforeseen force decided to stick them with the need to let us take lead" I hissed back "Now stop muttering and think of what we should do. I doubt the beast is going to stay patient for long an- wait. Where's shadow gone?"
"What?" Barnes snapped, as he looked to where I had forced her, behind my leg "When did she disappear?"
"If I knew that, would know where she is. Which I don't" I hissed back before turning to look at the dragon against as I heard a familiar giggle.
Oh no... thought, before I finally lay eyes upon the scene before me.
Is that... is that Shadow? I thought, wide-eyed, as I watched the black ball get thrown around in the dragon's hands.
"What the-" Barnes exclaimed as he looked upon the scene.
"Oh great..." he muttered as his power lit up.
"Wait," I said, holding him back "Listen. Shes giggling. She's not afraid"
"But..."
"But, wait," I said turning to look at him. He held the same position he always has when he's about to throw himself into stupid danger for someone else.
"We-" I stated to stay, but I am interrupted by Shadows call.
"Swift!" she said, as she ran to me, happily.
