Darkness. Everywhere he looked, there was nothingness. He wondered where he was. Or what he was. It felt as if he was everywhere, and nowhere. He panicked for a moment, only to realise he had nothing to fear for. The only two things in this... place are time, and him. He calmed down, and looked around again, this time, with a more rational state of mind. It wasn't that bad. He could get used to this sort of... existing. With that thought, he relaxed.

After some time had passed, sitting in the dark had become boring. He began to wonder what he could do. Just something that could entertain him, even if it wasn't for long. If there was nothing, he could create something, right? So, to test this theory, he tried to create life. A shapeless blob appeared before him. No real colour, shape, or reason to live. It just floated in the dark. After a while, it became hard to look at, so he tried to give it a colour and a shape. As so, it became a teal blue, and grew four paws. Satisfied with the result of his little experiment, he let the poor thing disappear, leaving him alone with time.

He began to think. Something amusing to look at. maybe he can create an entire world? With that idea, he started with a universe. A place for the world to be in. with a sun, a moon, and the world in between. He made some random light points in the dark, so he wouldn't lose the world in the endless darkness. He made the sun glow too, so the world wouldn't exist in the darkness he existed. As he looked at the piece of rock floating in the stars and blackness, he started with adding life. He added water. The fluid floated away from the rock, not even sticking to the surface. On a desperate try to save the liquid, he made an attraction point in the middle of the rock, attracting the water back to the rock. Although, other than what he expected, the water formed a shell around the rock, creating the illusion of a blue sky. on the perspective of the rock, of course. The blue sky looked cool, so he let that be. On a try two, he created water, and this time it stayed on the rock. To make some more colour, he made some green. Plants and trees sprout out from the ground. Satisfied with the environment, he started to think up living things. Animals. Bugs. Birds. Fish. All without intellect. After all, it would be entertaining to watch a lot of stupid things live their life, right?

He was only partly right. After some time, maybe a couple of centuries, he grew bored of watching monkeys scratch their butts and frogs eating flies. He wanted something more intelligent to enter the world. Maybe to make a story for him to enjoy. so came the beginning of humans. As the humans build up civilisation he watched up above. At some points the 'story' as he liked to call it, went a little wrong, or became really interesting, he came down to the world, which the humans called 'earth' to get a better view, or to send them on a better path, to not destroy his harmony. Sometimes, he even did something, like kill an 'important' person, or make hurricanes or earthquakes, just to see the reactions of his creations, and watch them rebuild their cities. Sometimes the humans tried to solve something by violence, resulting in war. The first big war ended all right without interference. When the second one came, however, it got out of hand. Eventually he had to eliminate the source of the war, to end that madness.

After some years, decades, or even centuries, he figured out some patterns of the reactions and actions of the human race. It started to annoy him how everyone's reactions became so predictable. So, he decided he needed to create something that was above the human race, but not too powerful to hinder him. Mages, elves, vampires, etcetera. Just humans with little privileges in life. Little exceptions in society. To avoid interaction with humanity, he created a little island in the middle of what the humans call 'the pacific'. And this decision is going to become very, very interesting.
