If you're trying to kiss me, just do it.
***Jacob woke up the next day, the day where the snow was much heavier. Before he could open his eyes, he remembered -- the golden gala! The Golden Gala is a ball which is held anually for the nine grade students going into highschool. It is usually held every December -- before Christmas. To have a partner to be brought to the ball is a must. That's why Jacob asked Sophia.
Jacob wanted to look as attractive as possible, he was also hoping that Sophia would look the same -- better. Even though it wasn't until sundown, Jacob can't waste a second wihout preparing. Preparing his hair, preparing his clothes and making every single chance to look as handsome as possible.
He opened wide his closet, saw an attractive looking grey blazer sortish. He haven't touched it from the day it was bought. He took a brave breath and took it. He then looked up on the mirror.
"Do I look good?" He asked himself, "will Sophia be pleased?"
There are basically two short reasons why Jacob wants to look good; Pleasing Sophia and to win the best couple in the gala. That's it. Only that. Even though he does it for two simple reasons, one of it is really important, pleasing a girl, a SOPHIA.
He figured put it looked pretty much elegant, he decided to wear it. He pretty much spent half of the cold winter day choosing his outfits.
Meanwhile at Sophia's, Sophia was still sleeping safe and sound. The weather made her to sleep. She couldn't even remember it was the d-day. Sydnee came peeking in her room. Sydnee is Florence's mother, which is Sophia's grandmother. Sydnee and Florence are Canadian.
"Sophia," Sydnee said softly.
"Uh Mom?" Sophia said half asleep.
"Don't you have that dance today you were talking about yesterday darling?" Sydnee asked.
"Oh. The dance. THE DANCE?" She became shocked, "I better get up, prepare my clothes, my hair too! Gran can you help me?"
"You know I can't, I know nothing about fashion, but I'm sure your aunt Tiffany would handle it like a piece 'a cake." She replied.
Sydnee smiled and closed the door.
"Tiff! Prepare breakfast, Sophia's awake." Sydnee's voice could still be heard through the door.
"Okay mom!" Tiffany replied.
Now both were buzy preparing for the ball. In fact, all nine graders in Bardstown are. The thing is, you might just think it looks fabulous for you but just a slight chance your partner won't. It'll just leave them a bad impression, and plus, it's the era of Fashion.
Outside the warm houses are thick, heavy snow. Snowmans almost at every house, snow angels leaving a mark everywhere.
The started to set, it set a little earlier today. Jacob just needed to tie his tie, Sophia just needed to zip her dress. She was running a little late, Sydnee wasn't feeling well, she was in her bedroom.
Meanwhile, at Jacob's, he was going down the stairs, looking all ready.
"Oh my!" Mom gasped.
"Could you take me there?" Jacob asked.
He wanted to use a car, to make a better impression, and plus, there's no way you could ride a bike in that thick snow.
He finally arrived at the place, Eve's Ballroom. It was a pretty big place, for a small town like Bardstown, at least.
He entered the place, he was pleased inside there was a warmer, it was freezing cold. He met Matthew waiting.
"Waiting for your girl?" Jacob asked.
"Yeah, who're you bringing?" Matthew replied.
"Oh, me?" Jacob said, "Sophia, you?"
"Oh, Well I guess I'm with Carla." Matthew answered.
The waited together, everyone was dancing with their partners. Except them.
Matthew then gasped, Carla arrived.
"Bye Jake!" He said.
"Yeah." He replied.
Sophia was worried, she was running late. She just needed to walk there, it was pretty close from her house.
Suddenly Sydnee coughed so hard, she was in pain, she had trouble breathing.
Sophia and Tiffany suddenly ran towards Sydnee.
"What happened?" They both panicked.
"We better get you to hospital!" Tiffany gasped, "you better go, you're running late!"
"No, I'll go with you." She said.
"Well if you insist." Tiffany replied.
They had to carry Sydnee towards Flaget hospital.
They finally arrived, Sophia was only able to leave when she saw Sydnee was already lying in the hospital bed.
Jacob was waiting for so long. Everyone was being romantic already. Many looked at him like a wierdo, tricked by her partner.
A glimpse of hope came when he saw the door open. Sophia. In a golden dress with her hair curled up.
"Sophia? You came!" He gasped.
They stared.
"Do you want to dance?" Jacob asked while giving his hand.
"I practiced some moves, but I ain't that good." Sophia sighed.
"Let's just learn together, shall we?" He said holding her hand.
They danced, Jacob kept on staring towards Sophia.
"Gosh, you look beautiful!" Jacob complemented.
"Thank you!" She replied.
Jacob kept on staring towards her.
"If you're trying to kiss me, just do it." She said.
"What? No, I was just, just, you know..." he said confused.
The song suddenly turned to a really romantic one. Every girl laid their heads in the boys' shoulders. Except Sophia and Jacob. They just stared. They were getting closer and closer until...
"Hey wassup y'all!" Said a guy, he was the MC, he literally ruined the whole moment. He seemed as a big jerk to Jacob,
"I mean, I almost kissed her, for the third time!" He sighed in his heart.
"We are now to announce the COUPLE OF THE YEAR!" The MC said.
Jacob knew it was impossible for him to win, Sophia was late.
"Is....... Matthew and Carla!" He shouted.
The whole room clapped and cheered. Matthew was surprised, Carla was too. They went up the stage, flowers suddenly came down from the sealing. They were given crowns and flowers. Carla kissed Matthew
