Jacob woke up the next morning. He knew what he needed to do first thing. He saw Sophia asleep, which made him not to ask her to come with her.
Jacob and his parents quickly departed to the sheriff station. Jacob was pretty hopeful that the sheriff would believe. They then arrived there, pretty early. The sheriff station was this small wooden house located in the city edges. It was pretty much a shack with only two sheriffs on duty.
The door made a sound as they were coming in. They can see two sheriffs sitting beside each other. One sheriff looked at them.
"Anything to help?" He said.
"Er - yes, we would like to register a report a father-daughter rape." Jacob said.
"Excuse me?" The sheriff said, "a rape?"
"Yes." Jacob's dad replied.
"Any proof? Pictures, videos or anything?" The other sheriff said.
"Well, we have some." Jacob said while sitting down.
Jacob showed the pictures of the abuse but not the rape.
"When did this happen?" He said.
"This was yesterday, but he did this everyday." Jacob said.
"Oh gosh." The sheriff said, "but you're lying, no one would open their window while doing that. You're all a bunch of liars.
"No we're not lying." Jacob said.
The sheriff ignored it and put his feet on the table.
Suddenly there was somebody opening the door. He seemed big and scary.
"John, Mike! Why the hell are you sleeping?" He said.
The guy came towards Jacob. "It's Patrick, head sheriff."
"Now what're you here for?" Patrick said.
"Sophia's my best friend, she was raped by her dad."
"Do you bring any evidence?" He asked.
Jacob put the envelope on top of the table. Patrick opened it and looked at it.
"Do you have the victim? Bring her here." Patrick said.
Jacob came running home.
"SOPHIA! SOPHIA!" Jacob said running,
Sophia became awake.
"The sheriff wants to see you!" He said.
"You told them?" She asked.
"I had too! Come on!" He said.
"What, uh, fine." She said.
The station door finally opened. Sophia and Jacob arrived.
"This is the girl?" Patrick asked.
"Yes." Jacob said.
"Come on girl, come to my room." He said.
Patrick and Jacob went inside.
