Authors note, this is from a prompt on Pinterest as I am out of all original ideas. This is also kind of an epic tragedy with a deeper meaning.
When someone's heart is broken and their world is shattered so is a physical part of the real world. It stands as a symbol of what once was and is no longer, of what could've been and how deep it ran. When couples with meaningless relationships broke up, no impact is made on the world, nor in their lives really. When couples with a superficial relationship broke up, usually only the surface of earth cracked. However, when true love was split apart, either by unforeseen circumstances, death, or for protection; canyons were imprinted deep into the earth. People could tell when true love was forced apart by the universe, when the ground shook and land cracked and split, broken like those who last step foot on it.
Knowing that, listen close to the story of the Grand Canyon.
It all started with a look. She looked up to see his eyes already focused on hers. Although they held the eye contact for a second they both quickly turned to look away, both blushing and both wondering what it meant that the other had been looking at them.
Days went on, there had been other instances like the one described before, but never any real interaction. Not until today, when the boy, running outside during the lunch period tripped and fell into the girl's lap, almost as if it was fated he said, "I guess I fell for you huh."
She laughed and he smiled. He loved the sight of her smile and the melodious sound of her laugh, like music to his ears he cherished every moment before he stood up. "My name is Bellamy by the way."
"Clarke." She said as a smile stretched across her lips. She couldn't help but smile when she was with him. It was like every thought in her brain was clouded with happy thoughts and what a wonderful feeling it was.
"See you later." He said and then walked away. He, as did Clarke, hoped very much that would prove true.
It did. Bellamy was driving home when he saw a blonde girl walking along the sidewalk. He would never have done this in clear mind, but he never had a clear mind when he was with her, or even when he thought of her.
So he rolled down his window and said, "Do you want a ride home?"
She looked as though she was debating it, although a few moments later Clarke replied, "I'd love a ride."
After she got in the car and buckled up, Bellamy shifted into drive and the car rolled along the street again.
"Thanks for the ride." Clarke said fiddling with a loose thread on the sleeve of her sweater.
"No problem." Bellamy said simply glad to be in the blonde's presence. "Although I do need to now where I'm going?"
She didn't speak for a moment until she finally said, "left."
With no additional instruction, all Bellamy could do was put on his blinker and turn left at the next stop sign.
"I haven't noticed you before?" Bellamy said before disgusted as his words left his mouth. What kind of sentence question even was that.
"I just moved here last month." She didn't care about the wording of the comment she was just happy that he had noticed her at all.
"Where from?"
"California." Clarke looked out the window of the car. She loved the beauty of nature. Bellamy was glancing over at Clarke, he loved the beauty in her. "Right."
"What." He asked snapping his eyes back to he road.
"Turn right here."
"Oh right." Bellamy turned right.
