"Wait who guards this exit?" I asked, pointing to the most northern exit of the cabin. "That's your post, Gaten."
"Wait I have a job to do?"
"Yes."
Sadie had been briefing me on the mission for the past few minutes while Caleb checked to see if the van could handle the trip and Noah and Finn packed for all of us. "Awesome." I replied and she folded the map. She looked kinda down. "Hey." I said, grabbing her arm as she was about to walk away. "You'll be okay, you'll get over her." She smiled sadly. "I don't know if I want to."

"If you don't hurry up in there, I'm gonna break down the door." I threatened, waiting for Finn to finally finish showering. "Calm down." He laughed, stepping out of the bathroom in boxers and a shirt. "No one wants to see that, Foxsoft." I replied, walking in as he flipped me off. I quickly brushed my teeth and, having already changed earlier, went to bed immediately. It had been an exhausting day. "What took you so long?" Caleb asked when I walked into our shared bedroom. "Finn was showering." He nodded, that explained it. I closed the door and turned off all the lights, preparing myself for another night of terror. "Goodnight." I whispered. "Goodnight." Caleb replied, and I drifted off to sleep.

"We know."

That was the only sentence they said.

They stood around me in a circle.
I wasn't the only one in the circle of friends. Caleb was standing right in front of me. The one person I definitely never want to find out about what I've done.
"Please." I begged, falling to the floor as I was pushed from behind by Clara, followed by Finn kicking me, Sadie cutting me, Noah hitting me, Millie stabbing me, Grace pulling out my hair, Lisa ripping off an arm with her bare hands, Frank taking care of the other, Lexi perforating my eardrum with a needle, Henry doing the same to my other ear, Peyton stepping on my face, Matt and Ross sucker punching me at the same time, Natalia hitting me with a metal rod, Joe tasing me, Charlie shooting me, mom smiling at me as she carved her name in my right leg, my dad doing the same with my left, Shannon's eyes burning red as her hair as she kicked me in the face, Cara sliding her knife straight across my stomach.

Finally Caleb looked me in the eyes, tears streaming down my face as his face was devoid of emotion when he pulled the trigger, killing me with a bullet to the head.

I suddenly saw everything from above. I heard Caleb start yelling my name.

"Gaten."
"Gaten."
"Gaten."
"Gaten."
"Gaten."
"Gaten."
"Gaten, wake up!"
"Gaten!"

I shot up, wiping my face. "Are you okay?"
"Please." I said, expecting him to kill me again. I tried to get away from him but he wrapped his arms around me. "Gaten, I'm your friend." I was still frantically trying to get away. "Gaten, listen to me."
"No. No. No! NO. NO!" I finally managed to free myself and I jumped out the window, falling on my face. I lay still, accepting my defeat like I had before, rolling over and staring up at the night sky and the pretty stars.

I had about a minute of peace. "Gaten, what are you doing out here?" I heard Noah ask me. I looked at him with a scared expression, not wanting to get hit again. I made myself as small as possible as I curled up to the house. He sat down in front of me, soon joined by Sadie and Caleb. The latter sat down next to me. "You love the house that much, huh?" He joked, patting the brick wall that was covered in dirt and looked like decay. Sadie and Noah chuckled. She got up and walked inside. "Talk to me, Gaten. What happened?" Caleb tried, putting an arm around my shoulder. "You did." I whispered, my voice barely audible over the silence. "Did I kill you again?" He said it like it was no big deal. I nodded. "I never would, you know that, right?" He said, looking me in the eyes as Noah walked away, realizing he had nothing to do with this moment. "Promise?" I asked, still not looking him in the eyes. "Promise." He replied, rubbing my arm. "How's about we go back inside and get some sleep before tomorrow, sound good?" I nodded and he got up, pulling me up with him.

We pushed the beds together, knowing it kept both of us calm.

I woke up at the usual time, 7.45, and shook Caleb awake. I walked into the hallway and yelled for Sadie and Finn to wake up. Noah was already making breakfast and I quickly got dressed and sat down in the living room, my back against the couch. "Jesus I'm tired." Sadie complained as she walked into the living room, followed by Finn. "Really? I slept really well." He said. He always slept well while the four of us were plagued by nightmares. "You always do." Caleb said, glaring at him slightly. He and Sadie sat down next to me as Noah brought in the food. "We're leaving in an hour." Caleb said, taking a bite of his sandwich. We all nodded and ate in silence.

"Did you pack my-"
"Yes, I did."
"And the-"
"That, too."
"Could you sto-"
"Stop finishing your sentences? No."
"Why not?"
"Because that only wastes time, Gaten."
"We have an hour and you've already packed everything." I said. He just sheugged. "We could go check the final few things about the van." He proposed and I nodded, following him outside to find Noah and Sadie chucking bags into the back. Caleb lifted the hood and we started inspecting everything. "Oh hey could you-" he started and I did what he wanted me to. "Thanks, seems okay. We'll make it there."
"Boys! You ready?" Sadie called from the back, closing the door after Finn. We both also got in and Caleb started driving.
