"Okay, Caleb, keep the engine running. Gaten, carrier. Finn, back door. Sadie and I go in, make it quick, make it easy. Understood?" We were all sitting in the van wearing all black while Noah explained the plan one last time. "Her bedroom is on the second floor, if you hear glass break, it could be her. Only abandon post after telling us. Be quiet, be stealthy, don't fuck up." Sadie finished the instructions and we all nodded. "Okay, let's go. Caleb usually started the engine a minute after we'd left, and this time was no exception. I had a heavy backpack full of ammo, medicine, bandages, knives, and other things we might need on my back and a handgun in my hand, Noah and Sadie both had a knife between their teeth and a gun in their hands. Finn stayed behind at the backdoor while Sadie, Noah, and I moved towards the front. Sadie counted down on her fingers.Three. I took a deep breath and straightened my shoulders.
Two. I gripped my handgun tighter, hoping I wouldn't either lose it or accidentally shoot it.
One. I quickly prayed for Caleb and I's safety.
Go. I was busy thinking about Caleb and nearly forgot to follow the other two inside. Sadie had picked the lock so we could get in without trouble. Noah went into the living room to take cares of the dog while Sadie and I crept up the stairs. She slowly opened the door to the bedroom, a gun in one hand and her knife in the other. By the time the dog barked (which was only once before the tranquilizer started working) we were standing over Tessa's bed, each with a gun. She opened her eyes and focused on us, ready to scream. Sadie smacked a hand over Tessa's mouth and took off her mask. "Hello, Captain." Sadie whispered before putting a gun against her head. I looked away. I hated this part. A gunshot rang out and we sprinted down the stairs. Noah had the dog over his shoulders and we went out the backdoor so Finn would know for sure it was done.
"That was easy." I said as soon as I was back in the passenger seat and we were driving down the highway. "Too easy." Sadie said while she grimaced. "We need a detour. A big one, too. Mexico or something." Noah said. "Wait why?" I asked him. "Like Sadie said, it was too easy. No person aware of trained soldiers out to kill her would ever go somewhere without security." Finn replied.
"So what do we do with the dog?" Caleb asked after about an hour. "I don't know. He needs a safe place so with us is not an option. Luna and Sol?" I proposed. "No, Luna is allergic. What about Lexi and Henry?" Sadie asked. "I have no idea where they are right now. I need internet and your laptop to find out." I replied. "Okay, heading to the nearest McDonalds." Caleb said, taking a turn.

"Okay they're near the Mexican border so if we head towards Mexico we could meet them in Fort Worth." Caleb said, reading over my shoulder while eating some fries. "I'll tell them to meep us there, then." I replied.
I could go for some Sally Lunn's. April 68th when the schools are out?

"They agreed, we'll see them there. They can also get us across. All of us, I hope. Not sure. Fort Worth. The most northern bar, noon, tomorrow." I said. "Well actually today. It's 2 am." Finn corrected me. "Okay, Wolfhard."
By the time we stopped again on a parking lot, it was 3 in the morning and we were all just done. Then Finn got out the booze. "Okay, I have vodka, beer, some white wine, and exactly enough of that weird Dutch stuff for one glass of that and cola. Speaking of coke, I also have some of that."
"Where on earth did you get coke?" Sadie asked him. Caleb and I shared a look. "You know, while you guys were doing the hit, the engine was being a bit weird so I should go take a look at that. I don't drink on a day when I still have to drive, anyway." Caleb said while getting up. "Need help?" I asked hopefully. He nodded and I followed him ouside.Has anyone ever told you not to make out near an open hood of a car? Because I wouldn't recommend it, honestly. The hood part, that is. The making out part was great. We just quickly messed around with the engine for a bit afterwards and went inside looking like we'd been productive. None of them noticed that we never even brought tools outside or that Caleb's shirt was kind of wonky because by the time we were inside Sadie was arranging all the playing cards in the deck while Finn tried to kiss Noah. Noah wasn't as into it as Finn was.
By the time the next morning rolled around Finn and Sadie really regretted those last few shots they'd done as they both wore sunglasses and a scowl for the entire morning and most of the day. I also couldn't help but notice that Finn's cocaine supply had lessened ever so slightly. I ignored it and just sat in the front while we drove the last miles to Fort Worth. We parked by the most northern bar we could find, put on some disguises (and by that I mean sunglasses and wigs) and went inside to wait at the bar. The dog, who had spent the night outside the van, was waiting outside where there was a water bowl and a pole that he was tied to. "So what time will they be here?" Sadie asked me. Sadie was quite a sight, honestly. Between her big round sunglasses, her cute sundress, and her pastel pink hair, she looked like a rainbow had sex with a unicorn and somehow the child was human. "I said noon so they won't be here a second before noon. So five more seconds." And, low and behold, five seconds later they walked in. Not disguised, since they didn't even legally exist, but with a bag that would've seemed quite suspicious if it were anywhere other than this tiny, fairly dirty, bar on the outskirts of town.
"I take it we need to take the dog?" Lexi asked after they'd said hi to everybody. "Yes. Also did you get any intel on the security?" I asked her. "We did. There really wasn't one. Our rat told us so. You can go home, it's safe." She answered.
We spent most of the afternoon in the middle of nowhere talking about lots of things. While Noah, Sadie, and Finn were gone for a bit, we even told Lexi and Henry about us.
