"Jane! Fuck!" I cried seeing her arm gushing with blood, filling the grass beneath her. She faintly said my name and looked at me with her beautiful blue eyes; they were full of tears. I quickly pulled out my phone out from my jeans and dialled Emergency. "It's going to be okay," I tell her softly as the phone stars to ring. She nods slowly.
"Hello?" A woman's voice answered the phone after four rings. Her voice was calm.
"Hello this is Luke Hemmings, I'm at the local park and my friend, she is hurt and is loosing a lot of blood." I start to tear, I pressed down on the wound with my free hand. I felt the warm blood on my skin. "I need an ambulance."
"Calm down, sir, I will send them right away." She paused, muttering something to someone in the background. "They are coming, okay? Now can you inform me what had happened?"
"I don't know, I got a text message from her saying she was here and needed my help and so I went to see her, and I found her like this." I was crying now. Her eyes were starting to flutter close. "Please hurry," I was shaking.
"They are on their way, dear. Tell me, where is the wound located?"
"On her upper right arm."
"Is it deep?"
"Yes, oh god," my breathing wasn't even anymore
"Keep calm, it's okay. Now, I want you to press down on the wound are you doing that?"
"Yes."
"Good, continue to do that. Keep talking to her. They will be here soon."
"Okay," and then I hung up.
After a minute of hanging up, the ambulance arrived with raging sirens. The men got out of the car, holding a bed, along with a woman that held a huge bag of equipment in her hands. I waved them over and they spotted me instantly.
"What's her name?" One of the men asked.
"Jane," my voice croaky from all of the crying.
"Jane can you hear me?"
"She wouldn't respond to anything I said," I told him. He nodded.
The woman took be away from the scene and sat me on a bench next to the playground and they bandaged Jane's arm and lifted her on to the bed. The woman's name was Ricky, and she was taking my blood pressure and seeing if I was okay. I told her was fine but she was just doing her job. "She's very pretty," she said.
"Yeah..." I said quietly after awhile. "She is."
"Is she your girlfriend?" I shook my head. "Why not?"
"We don't really know each other too well."
"Really? Because before you didn't want to leave her side." She said with a curious tone, and a vague smile. "What's your name?"
The men were starting to move the bed now, towards the ambulance, and Ricky was starting to pack the equipment away in the bag. I was okay, like I said. My heart was pounding fast though.
The sky was clear, and it would have been a good day, a great day. And there was subtle wind in the trees and the leaves seemed to start to fall as Autumn was coming. I looked at Ricky, and frowned more, my eyes sore from crying - hoping Jane was going to be okay. Ricky's brown hair was put into a bun, her olive skin and brown eyes for close features of Beyoncé's.
"I'll tell you when I know."
